I was going to a "Drilling Well on Paper" meeting in Lake Charles. I showed up in khakis and a collared shirt. Everyone else was in jeans and tshirts.

Out of spite, I wore a suit on casual Fridays at one of my prior jobs.

I don't wear jeans, so the opportunity to wear jeans on Friday is wasted on me. So o decided to make everyone else feel uncomfortable.

I'm nicer now. These days I'll wear khakis and a blazer on casual Friday. Occasionally, I'll mix in a seersucker shirt and no blazer.

Many years ago, I showed up at my deer camp wearing a tuxedo - went directly there from a wedding. Was best man at my nephew's wedding - on opening day of deer season!!!!

Went to cowboy bar once. I had way too many clothes on until I started drinking Tequila.

Recently went to an engagement party for a wedding I'm in. I didn't get the casual dress memo, showed up in a suit. All eyes on me I guess. Sorry bride and groom.

I went to a job interview for a higher end sales position and showed up in a custom suit and everyone in the room was in jeans and a polo. It turned out for the best because I got the job but they fricked with me about it pretty hard.

Fwiw I'll take being overdressed everyday for the rest of my life rather than be the guy that's under dressed.

Wore slacks, button down and tie to an interview like any sane person would and my interviewer and the rest of the office staff was in jeans and tshirt. It was for an assistant project manager position. Nothing wrong with that, just made me look like a tool.

No, you can't.

Now, you can be inappropriately attired (wearing a suit to go fishing), but that's a different situation.

I can think of plenty of situations where you can be overdressed, especially in business type situations

I once went dressed as a clown to a Halloween party that wasn't a costume party.

Why have a Halloween party with no costumes?

Was it a mixed race wedding? I've seen this done where the bride was black and the groom was white.
