I'm adding Will Patton- dude has serious chops, but unfortunately the films he best dispkays these chops in are two of the most panned films ever- Armageddon and The Motherfrickin Postman

This!

Now get out of my head.

Edit:
You did it again:

William Fichtner is an incredible actor. I've always thought of him as a poor man's Christopher Walken. Another actor who had a great turn in the critically panned Armageddon.

He was also really good in The Perfect Storm, and absolutely nailed a WW1 PTSD vet in Pearl Harbor in a brief appearance (Affleck's father).

Plus he was great as Jodie Foster's blind friend in Contact, the mob bank manager in The Dark Knight, and the Delta Force officer on the ground in Black Hawk Down.

Ben Foster and Giovani Ribisi get my vote. Two of my favorite actors. And yes, Ribisi's death in Saving Private Ryan was huge in making that movie for me

Michael Shannon.

He was great in The Iceman and Shotgun Stories.

From his IMDB page it looks like he's getting a lot of work, I just think he deserves more lead roles.

Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd

I thought they were better than Wood in LOTR. Monaghan's character of Charlie was my favorite on Lost. Thought they would both get big after LOTR.

Josh Harnett is my boy.

Michael Shannon still isn't a household name.

Wood Harris along with Ryan Hurst.

Thought more of the guys in Band of Brothers besides Fassbender would get big but they didn't

I honestly think JJ is content with small rolls from this point on, he's going to be the lead in a show on Showtime, but yeah, I think he's content with small stuff now, and do you blame him since he gets to come home to Diane Kruger every day?

On that same not, I'm convinced Ricky Gervais could act above his schtick, but I can't fault him for his choices.

Completely agree. I could see him taking future roles that could have gone to Philip Seymour Hoffman and really shining actually.

Also agree with Hartnett. Where has that dude been??? Had a five year run at the end of 90s starting with Faculty and Virgin Suicides and ending with Slevin and Dahlia in the mid 2000s and then just disappeared for going on a decade now???

Speaking of Hartnett, how about his costar in 40 Days and 40 Nights, Shannyn Sossaman. Her first role was female lead in A Knight's Tale, awesome flick, and while she was clearly raw, I thought she was solid with a ton of potential to become a huge female star.

She has classic Hollywood beauty features but also very sexy. Thought she was a lock for stardom but her roles have been pretty weak since that big time debut and costarring in 40 Days with Hartnett.

Both appeaered to be on their way to the A list and kind of disappeared

Josh Harnett: I think his role in Pearl Harbor did him in for critics, but I loved Pearl Harbor and though Harnett was outstanding in it.

id say this is who i put on top for my list. He did a decent amount of movies, but he never seemed like he hit the big time.

40 days and 40 nights is one of my guilty pleasure "chick flick" rom coms, and O is my favorite movie of his. And, I mean, who doesn't love the Faculty.
