Have you watched a lot of film on him? I watched about 4 of his games and never got that impression of him. Maybe I just so happen to watch 4 off-games, but I didn't see a one and done guy. I saw a guy that was a 3-4 year player who needed a lot of work on his offensive skillset.

I don't understand why people can be a Gray fan over Hornsby to be honest...
Im excited for both, but I think Hornsby is gonna be the real deal. A guy that can shoot as well as he can but can also go inside, drive to the hoop, and finish around the rim is scary exciting to me.
Gray's played high major D1 ball and nearly averaged double figures as a freshman. I remember talking to a Big 12 coach who said that anyone who can score double figures as a freshman in D1 is a monster, period. Gray put up a ton of shots in JUCO, for sure, but he can flat out score. I see him being Marcus Thornton light.
I think Hornsby's getting the transfer overhype. Not saying he won't be a good player and fill a role. Could even be an 8 to 10 point a game guy. Just don't see him being a consistent ball handler against SEC defenses. He did have big games against Ohio State and some other high major teams, though, and he played at Oak Hill, which is no joke.
Those two are a coin flip to me, and you may be right. Could see a taller Hornsby getting the nod over a 6'1 Gray, especially if Hickey's starting at PG. That's not a ton of size in the backcourt, something we know Jones covets.

I mean no mention of Ben Simmons coming in?
He's 2015 guy. Not next year.

Why would he think that going to the NBA would be a good decision? He has everything to gain by staying at LSU for at least another year. This guy was in no way ready for the NBA. I cant believe that him skipping his sophomore season was even an option.

He obviously didn't...

Yeah, and he's not going to the NBA. The NBA drafts largely on potential. Which is something he possesses.

Well, it was. He got his evaluation and thought better of it.

The best starting lineup next year IMO:
PG- Josh Gray 6'2"
SG- Keith Hornsby 6'4"
SF- Jarell Martin 6'9"
PF- Jordan Mickey 6'8"
C- Elbert Robinson 7'0"
That's a solid starting lineup size/height wise. With Hickey, TQ55, Morgan, Epps, Odo, Malone, Bridgewater, Hammink, and Patterson coming off the bench.

I'm with you. Hornsby will be a difference maker. He's been with the team for a season, and I expect him to adjust a little quicker than Gray.

He has already said he was staying but never said he was going pro, people started assuming it.
But to answer your question...MONEY

Glad Mickey is coming back. I think it's in his best interest and LSU's as well.
Next years team is NCAA or bust and hopefully a win or 2.
2015 could be a top 8 team, depending.

Good news. The team looks like they'll have some good pieces next season.
JoB was great but I'm hopeful LSU will be able to open up the paint and the offense more next season.

If Jarrell Martin learns how to play defense then maybe one of the best in the SEC, but the nation......nah

Not having that crutch should make the offense better overall. You hate to lose a good player, but I think the offense will be much more consistent and flexible next season.

UK is gonna have a ridiculous front court. 3 very good 7 footers. Still I'm excited about the guys we have coming in and sticking around.
