And?

Hes still playing in his prime. Wall was erratic his 1st few seasons in the league. Some people said he might be a bust.

Hes just getting into his prime. Harden acclimated to the NBA way better than Wall did. And developed and improved earlier. Wall was just a "late developer". Finally figured it out and is playing at a high level.

And Lester, I didnt say he rapidly improved like someone else did. I just said he has improved. And he has. Hes better now than he was last year. That would be called improvement.

And Im not saying Beal and Wall are the best backcourt in the league. Im saying they are 1 of the better ones right now. And they are the youngest, with the most room to grow. A lot of people that cover the NBA say Beal is a young star in the league and is compared to guys like Ray Allen and Dwayne Wade.

I don't think you understand what prime means.

So he's going to be either of one of the best SG's in the last 25+ years or one of the best shooters of all time? Interesting.

In the most literal sense, i guess. His Per went up a whopping 7 tenths of a point. His TS% went DOWN. As a shooting guard, Im not sure Im ready to jump on the "he improved" bandwagon.

Your benchmarks for improvement must be really low. That, and you are having trouble separating his efficiency between his rise in points because of increased minutes & shots. That's nothing to brag about.

Again, look at some of the 2nd year players I mentioned. They've improved. Even a shitty player like Austin Rivers saw a spike in his FG% and 3pt%.

And I dont think you understand what it means either.

Age and prime arent really that relevant IMO. You have a window where your body is in its "athletic prime". Sure I agree with that. But that doesnt mean you are playing youre absolute best and at the highest level you can play at. Players develop at different times and peak at diff times. Just because you are a certain age doesnt mean you are at your best on the floor. Which is what being in youre prime is to me. Its when a player is playing at his absolute best, at their peak.

Every player hits that peak at a diff time in their career. Some get there at 23 years old, others get there at 26, some get there at 28. Some players make a huge leap in improvement between 1 season, while others just keep on steadily improving a little bit each year.

Harden is close to playing at his absolute best right now. And its at a crazy high level. 1 of the best in the game. Wall is just now making that climb to his peak. Beal hasnt even started it yet.

I agree that he didnt make a rapid jump Lester. But, he is shooting more shots, making more, and scoring more points than ever. If he was scoring more because he was shooting more but dropped in his fg and 3pt%, of course that would be an issue. But hes shooting more and at a higher %. He has improved some this year. And I dont think this was his big improvement year. I think we see that big jump in his game next year. The kid is just 20 years old and missed around 30 games his rookie year due to an injury.

Stop using win shares as a legit stat

We don't have good defensive efficiency stats yet.
