I'm not sure if its still there but if you go by the Birdcage Lounge (might have changed names) it has a list of all the nicknames he gave the staff. My dad is on there so whenever he would see me he would call me Lil *insertnickname*

Awesome! Yeah, I read all of that stuff.

It has been renovated so much over the years. I probably wouldn't recognize most of it.

But even when you walk in the old main building, it has a smell of an old house. Like my aunts old country house. Guess it's the old wood.

It's priced too high and is corporate, but I am planning to go back next Labor Day.
Might even get to experience one of those Jubilees

Yeah It's different owners now. They've exiled the members to a whole other area to be "exclusive". It's stupid. Back in the day that place used to be so much fun.

I used to go on their company canoe trips. Holy hell did those guys get tanked

I have experienced probably 15-20, some are better than others. I don't run up and down the bay chasing them so I haven't caught as many as some of the guys I know that live down there and chase them from pelican point to Daphne. Also dont spend all summer living down there like i did from a young kid until early 20's. I do still get the early phone calls when one is happening and i have been known on occasion to jump on the road and drive from BR if its early enough, whats 3 hours for a good jubilee Our house is just south of the hotel and have a nice stretch of beach out front so it makes for pretty ideal conditions, also we are fenced so its pretty private so no yahoos roll up on us. I really like the ones when the shrimp and crabs move in and you can fill wash tubs with big ones, but I don't mind flounder either. Best we ever did on flounder was 330 big arse flounder in one morning.  A close second to a jubilee for me is when we haven't had any rain and the bay has been calm so it gets pretty clear and the big trout are working under my pier lights, tough to beat hammering big trout on a fly rod, I'm not a fly rod guy by any means, but it is lethal at night under the lights
