Part of the problem is they are on the schedule between the Masters and the Players. If it's a shitty course and based on what I've read it is, then the players are going to play at Harbour Town or Quail Hollow in two weeks.

Squire would be legit! English Turn and U-club, not so much.

You realize players loved English Turn right?

Yea they tried to get San Antonio a better spot last year and the players bitched so much they moved it back. Some courses just suck and it wont mater where they are put on the schedule.

Also to the OP, I before E.

I've never understood the slot the Zurich has. Especially with Jazzfest that weekend as well.

English turn was in great shape a couple of weeks ago. Those shallow arse greens give me fits, though.

TPC was in outstanding shape when I played like ten days ago. I see no reason why it won't be top notch when I tee off there tomorrow.

Conditions @ English Turn have been terrible. They don't have the money to get it back in to tourney condition.

Wind and rainy conditions don't help.

Doesn't matter, I'll be out there supporting the Tiger golfers all week. I enjoy it no matter what the field really. Looking forward to it.

Quail Hollow is incredible. I've went to that tournament a few years ago. Hopefully they have the greens back.

Squire will get there first shot with a USGA event in the near future.

No full service hotels in the area kill any chance of a PGA tour event in choudrant.

40 miles away. Bit far for pampered golfers I would think.

When the new course at city park is finished, I would imagine they're going to try and get the tournament to move over there. Bayou District Foundation is tied into Fore Kids who runs the tour event.
quote:

The design of the course, which was $300,000 of the $24.5 million and was paid for by the Bayou District Foundation, has already been completed. Rees Jones Inc., and Torre Design Consortium worked along with the PGA Tour course design team to map out the course, which will be built on 250 acres of the old East and West courses.

You obviously have not played at English Turn within the last couple months because the course is in immaculate shape. Don't have the money? Haha. They have new owners who are pouring money into it

Sorry to offend. Not my intent. You are right, I haven't played there in a good while. Didn't even realize there were new owners. Who bought it? What have they done to it?
