Question for CPM: Does it take a "pivotal" game to finally come to your senses and put a lineup out there that seems, by consensus, to be better than what you've stubbornly insisted on putting out there?

so you think the HC should adopt his lineup "by consensus". surely you can see clearly this AM and repent. Easter is a good time for it.

I think it was a pivotal series. Huge to get 2 of 3 in Oxford.

.231 team BA in SEC play. That's good for 12th out of 14 teams. This team's pitching is one average performance away from a bind in post season play. Our offense will not out score anyone with even average pitching.

I'm not sure which 14 games you're referring to since we are 10-7-1 in SEC games.

Why are you so damn worried about typos? I meant teams. Do you really think I'm the type that gets bothered by that? Do you really think anyone's naive enough to think you're obtuse enough to not know what I'm talking about?

You kill me. You really do. Never seen a dumber polymath in my entire life.

We are one of the worst teams in the conference in terms of hitting the ball against other conference teams. That tells me quality pitching will absolutely handcuff us in the postseason, which tells me if anyone has an off night on the mound for us, we are in real trouble.

Indeed, but id rather us struggle to hit with the players we played yesterday. Great defensive lineup and its obvious the lineup isnt the problem. We just cant hit.

Beating a top 15 team on the road 2/3 is big. Also, My understanding from the gurus on here is that the key to winning the CWS is pitching and defense as the new Rosenblatt field is so large is kills hitters. This team has great pitching, just saying

No one is arguing that.

This team has had a pretty solid season, nobody is arguing against that. However, when you hit as terrible as we do, it makes postseason play very unnerving. It leaves zero margin for error. In game 1 of a regional we used to be able to throw Harry Dunn or Lloyd Christmas and it didn't matter because we would score 10 runs. Now we may have to pitch nola

Game 1 would probably be vs the SWAC champion. I doubt LSU would need nola to win that game.

I don't think we will get the luxury of the swac in our regional this year.

Why not? Regardless LSU can beat a 4 seed without throwing nola or poche. You're being dramatic.

Glass half full we're winning games with poor hitting that can and will improve. Also, the schedule looks to get a little lighter.

Glass half empty. This team is what it is...We've gotten lucky and even if we get through the regular season in a good position we won't be as lucky down the road to win games bc of opposing teams errors and will get knocked out early In the post season.

guess it has nothing to do with the hitting coach.

a road series win vs a top 10 team is a huge deal and will build confidence. The only think that has me concerned is that we looked horrible at the plate this weekend, it took Errors all weekend for us to produce runs. this will give us confidence but we have to do better at the plate if we really want to do something big this post season.

yeah I wouldn't be concerned about a 4 seed, sure they could upset us but it is very likely we beat a 4 seed. The key regional game is game two which Nola will pitch. I have high confidence if we start 2-0 we will easily win 1 of 2 to win the regional.

Maybe. Offense was still less than desirable but as far as timely hitting is concerned I'm hopeful they can keep it up.
