Go buy some Lysine at the store. I used to get ulcers inside my mouth all the time, and this would knock them out quick and helped prevent them.

. Oral herpes will actually exhibit sores on the outside of the mouth, while canker sores, appear on the inside of the mouth. The two types of sores may be commonly confused due to the same painful, tingling sensation prior to the actual development of physical sores. Sores for both canker sores and oral herpes will look similar at first, but while canker sores may go away within a week or two, sores related to oral herpes will leave a yellowish spot where the sores appeared, until that also disappears later.
I haven't ever had one.My Mom talks about cold sores she gets in her nostrils.

Akin's solution called in by dentist helps as well. Un treated they will last about two weeks. Getting worse ate the one week mark then getting better. Salt water gargle will help, Oragel make a product as well for canker sores (mouth ulcers)
I get them all the time when I eat citric acid containing foods. So I avoid them.
