His neighbors own a pit so they at least have some trash blood in them. Id probably tell the neighbors they don't live in a trailer park anymore so they should invest in a pet that is more suited for a neighborhood.

No clue. My house was built in '04. Not sure how old the neighbor's house is. I wouldn't call it the strongest fence, but my 130 lb rot/lab or 110 lb great pyredane wouldn't be able to break it off like this brick headed beast did.

You should have taking him out early before he becomes a killing machine.

My grandmother used to pack aspirin in raw sausage and feed it to stray or bothersome dogs. She said the aspirin would speed their heart rate up and make it explode. I don't know if that is true or not, I do know I never saw the dog again after she fed it. Those old people were pretty sneaky. And no, I'm not suggesting you kill the dog, it's just a story I remembered...

Replace fence with block wall.

Send bill to neighbor.

Profit.

Would have shot the dog and left the corpse on their doorstep.

In a couple years this dog will maul or kill someone.

They snap and have no off switch, are bred to kill. 100 dog breeds, and everyone wants a worthless fricking pitbull. I just don't get it.

Dog clearly wanted to be with you all. Should have kept him and told the neighbors to frick off.

Thennnn train him to only defend the backyard against those neighbors.

Sorry that your wife cheated on you with a pit bull man....

I have two dogs already and a baby due in a few weeks. I'm not taking in a pit bull.

My wife can't even look pitbull owners in the eye. It's irresponsible to own one in a neighborhood. They're obsessed with getting out and love to chase and kill.

4 kids dead so far this year by pitbulls. Congrats on defending that. Hope your kid doesn't die.

sounds like a pretty tame story minus him wanting to mess around with the fence....

it also sounds like you are pretty distant from the neighbors? (no contact info, had to be told it was a pitt, and going straight to animal control).... maybe getting to know them before the next issue pops up will be a good plan.

My house is twice as big and 3x as nice as yours.

Deal With It

I'm not close to them. I am close to the others, and as far as I can tell, they aren't close to this family either. they seem to want nothing to do with everyone else. And the dog is a puppy, so no, I hadn't noticed until now that they had a new dog. And I went to animal control after attempting several times to fix the problem, if you had read the OP. Of course having their number would have been ideal, but I didn't. And I was running out of nails, extra wood, and patience.

Probably a good call.

Your neighbors need to get to training their dang dog then.

Would you say it's double the width?

Anyway, that looks like a cool, normal dog. I retract my white trash statement from earlier.

touche. My statement was pretty douchy, but I needed something to use his glasses pic.

And thanks, he is the best dog I ever had. He's old and running out of time, so I get defensive for him.
