No. I work in a field I wouldn't have picked in a million years. Always thought I'd be married at my age and settled down, but I'm probably at the least settled down point of my life.

Happy about where I am just not expected.

Leaving college, I'm roughly where I thought I'd be.

Just with more kids, more income, more debt, and in a completely different line of work than I thought...

OK no I'm not where I thought I would be

I'm 28, and doing a little better financially than I was shooting for. I started out around the 55k mark out of school, so according to some in the other thread, I'm lucky to have survived on that income. So there's that. Work for the same company I started with, but moved out of the engineering side of the company much faster than I ever expected. I'm married with a kid on the way. If you would have asked me if that's what was in store for me my first senior year, I would have laughed at you. I definitely can't complain though.

No. Not quite. But I have a final interview this afternoon with the place I wanted to be a few years ago, and a beautiful woman who will graduate this year and is going to follow me there. Things are starting to go almost exactly how I planned, but I have to admit that I am very anxious and nervous if this is what I really want. It was always the future and just the plan. Now that it is reality, I'm scared that it may not be what I hoped for. I'm not worried about money, I guess, because I make enough to be comfortable (50k, no kids.) But I am finally starting to get comfortable with my current job and place I live. Life is just happening very fast.

I was right up until the end of last year. I lost a really good job (just north of 100k and unbelievable benefits) because the company pulled out of the country. I know that I won't replace the income at least at first but damn... the job landscape is absolutely demoralizing. 16 effing years down the drain. Thank God for a decent severance package.

Professionally no, not even close, seems like every industry I get in tanks after 5 years. I'm 38 and making half the money I made at 25. I'm very close to being in a good place financially though, and my wife has a good career, so I'm starting to think about doing my own thing.

Personal life, pretty damn good, but I've been on the roller coaster there too. I've experienced just about every tragedy a human being can, but presently I'm on top and loving it.

For you young guys, the good times often don't last, but the bad times don't either, so enjoy the good and wait out the bad.

Nope. Still rebounding from the housing crash.

No, but i'm not that stressed out about the situation. It'll work itself out.
