No, first career didn't work out. For sure didn't think I'd be in school again at 30

Considering I dropped out of high school in 9th grade I'd say I'm doing a hell of a lot better than anyone could have imagined. I make about 3x 55k/yr, far more $$ than anyone in my family ever has.

Got a house, truck, wife, dog, toys and travel all the time. I think I'm doin ok for 31.

As I age I'm realizing that life is tougher than I expected. I'm thankful for that because if it was a breeze there wouldn't be a challenge. I'm now a father of 4 and every single day I see an area where I can grow in a way that helps me develop my children to become better people. Now that I'm an old bastard I can finally see why my pops was the way he was with us kids. He was just trying to make us grow. At some point it is no longer about me, but about those around me and how I can develop them into better people. The same goes for my progression professionally. Now that I'm in management it's no longer about me becoming a bad arse, it's about me motivating and damn near tricking my staff into reaching their potential. It's hard as frick and I still suck at it, but I'm learning from mistakes and getting better as time goes by.

At the end of the day it's not about the $$$ but about you pouring yourself into other people's lives to develop them into better people. It ain't pretty sometimes but you gotta do what you gotta do to inspire others.

Had a little too much fun and the dean recommended for me to take a break next semester. Scored a one in a million job that starts during my vacation and honestly could not be happier. Life's too short to take too seriously

When I flip to full commission I'll be set. There is still a dolled amount I'll never settle on though

Not even close. Even if I was, I wouldn't be satisfied, but I'm in a pretty rough spot. But I'm pretty confident in my ability to make something of myself so I think it'll change for the better, but it's pretty rough right now.

A large problem is I'm being pulled in so many directions. Career choices, beliefs, and other stuff.

Family wise, I'm exactly where I always wanted to be. Money making wise, I'm in the ballpark of where I'd always thought I should be. It's just not anywhere near the type of work I ever thought I'd be doing.

Career: I'm right about where I though I'd be. Maybe even a little ahead. Highlight of my life right now. Really enjoying it.

Personal life: Nowhere close to where I want to be. I'm tired of where I live, and need to find the right girl. I still have fun with friends and enjoy myself, but those are the missing links I think about when I'm alone.

Was dam close, but life throws in things one has no control of. Had plans to retire at 57, but had to retire at 53 due to health. Thank God I had saved and put away money that I needed. Those extra 4 years of work I would of put away an extra $150K for retirement.

. That's why I (and probably a lot of us here) are putting away as much as possible while were young.

If you need some extra work, I'll pay you to come clean and do my laundry. You won't save that 150k, but I'll have a clean house. Should be pretty easy on the ole ticker too.

Age 42, and pretty close to what I wanted 25 years ago. It's a happy life.

I'm on my 4th job since 09 and the best thing that happened to me was being laid off. I was in a rut.
