So, what is actually happening?

Generally the same things that have always happened, just in a new context and with a camera to film it

Crime is at an all-time low. Your kids have less chances of getting murdered, raped, beat up, etc.

They have less chances of getting shot in school.

And it isn't even close to the old numbers. The violent crime rate in 1994 was 51.2 and 47.7 in 1973.

It was down to 15 in 2009. Despite this, Americans still think that it is just as unsafe as the early 90's

I'd say today's parent actually has to worry about less serious issues that come with new technology.

If they had done this a few years ago, I truly believe we'd have the 2012 crystal ball.

The loss to UF wouldn't have mattered, and I just don't think TM7 would have fallen for that screen. The UGA game would have been the real challenge, but win that and we destroy ND.

Man I'm from a small town where those type of crimes are not prevalent. These things are not a main concern for me. However, I do appreciate the information.

Curse words are just words. Why anyone thinks they are some sort of unholy sort, is beyond my understanding. There is nothing inherently wrong with those words. They certainly have no effect on the downfall of society

They aren't a concern for your kids future? Rape and assault don't happen in small towns?

How about this:

The smallest infant mortality rate EVER
The least deaths from bacterial diseases EVER.
The least amount of sexual crimes EVER.
The least amount of starvation EVER.

I said not prevalent, never said they didn't happen. Simply saying that I have less worry about my kids walking down the streets in my neighborhood than I would if I lived in a larger metro area.

Like I said, not arguing with your facts.

And EVEN LESS than you would have 20-30 years ago in either area.

You could have said you're afraid of any kind of change on page 1 and accomplished what you've accomplished.

Small town crime is actually on the rise the last few years (hard to stay as low as it was)

Didn't realize I had something to accomplish. I'm not preaching or anything. Just stating my opinion, never expected you to agree.

Shame what this generation is doing to our society. I'm not even that old, but the things that we now find acceptable and appropriate is ridiculous.
