Me either and I would guess that is why I found the first 45m or so boring and slow... But it built the storyline for the last half that was great

That, and the kid shoveling snow at the motel made me think of Judge Holden in NCFOM. Causing chaos for its own sake.

Anyone else catch the 4.95 White Russian special on the wall when Lester entered the diner?

I watched the movie on Netflix months ago. If it's still there, watch it.

If you didn't watch the movie, the first 30 minutes will appear slow. But you'll still really enjoy the last 45 or so minutes. It really takes off from there - and completely different than the movie.

If you've seen the movie, you'll enjoy the entirety of the pilot, IMO.

Just finished the premiere. Simply put...that was a brilliant pilot episode.

The cast is a homerun. Looking forward to the rest of this season.

Anyone understand why Lorne let the guy in the trunk go? and why he decided to put the deer in the trunk instead?

The scene from the hotel was hilarious. He tells the kid to piss in the mom's gas tanks and then rats him out. I was crying.

"Because some roads you shouldn't go down. Because maps used to say there'd be dragons here. Now they don't. But that don't mean the dragons aren't there."

Brillant.

When he said that and then started talking to Colin Hanks about going into the light all I could think of was Rust Cohle.

Does anyone have a gif of Lester running into the poster and knocking himself out yet?

Thanks. That's great. Does anyone know what that circle mark on his hand is from? I think I missed something, but it seemed like that mark may be a major issue going forward with his story.

I'll take my best shot at answering a couple o these questions, no guarantees that they r right though.

Spoilers (just in case)...

quote:

. Does anyone know what that circle mark on his hand is from?
pretty sure it is a bullet hole from the shotgun that took out the sheriff.

quote:

Anyone understand why Lorne let the guy in the trunk go? and why he decided to put the deer in the trunk instead?
he let the guy to because any cop in that small of a town would assume that a frozen man in the woods is most likely the driver of that abandoned car.

He put the deer in the trunk because the man who been back there had presumedly been injured in the process of being taken. Putting the deer back there would explain any blood found in the trunk. No cop is going to test if it is a human's blood when there is a deer bleeding all over the car.

The deer and letting the hostage freeze are both just says of easily covering his own arse.

This said, I've only watched the show once and these were just my initial reactions. A second viewing might clear some of it up.

The female detective mentions that whoever drove the car has a head injury [blood on the steering wheel]. So that rules out the guy who died in the woods.

Also, I looked at the cast list on imdb earlier today. It's going to be interesting to see what twist this show takes because a number of the actors are only listed for five episodes. Only one actress is listed for the full series right now.

This is what I thought it might be I just didn't notice any reaction from him after Thornton shot the sheriff. But that makes sense, and the wound looks like that.
