re: Wisconsin's Talent Gap

I don't see how you can say lsu returns a "very good defensive line". Are they talented? Yes. Inexperienced? Yes. We have no idea how good the interior DTs will be.

I don't grasp this logic. They return most of their starting DBs, but they aren't very good.

Bold statement- BH will play in this game and he will surprise a lot of people with his arm.

From a talent standpoint they look damn solid. They were very fast to the ball during the spring game. Our O line (that I know is PRETTY good) struggled with them.
I know it's "just the spring game." But those boys looked good.

It should be but it will but we won't close the game out like usual and let them stay in it for a while

We will find out quick with their hesiman RB and offensive line.

I think our DL will be very good

"The national recruiting rank average for Wisconsin since 2010 is 55th. Nearly their entire roster is filled with players LSU would consider preferred walk-ons."

How do JJ Watt and Russell Wilson fit into this?

You can't understand why someone would think we will struggle throwing?

Generally those Midwest teams have a lot of big tough physical players that are underrated by the recruiting services.

The problem with Wisconsin isn't the sheer athletic talent. They just grow some big boys in Minnisconsin. There is a lot of left tackle material there, if you will. Oregon ran circles around them but our scheme was the perfect counter to their defense. LSU replacing all their big skill guys should make this a close game imo. I also like Andersen. I think he's going to be a long tenured coach there.

Do you even Leonard Fournette, bro?

LF is gonna be a stud. No doubt about that. But, Im not gonna say hes the best RB in the country next year, before he has even step foot on campus.

Gordon would have been the #1 RB taken in the NFL draft this year. And was the only RB that had a shot to be taken in the 1st round. And he returned. His the #1RB for next year, ahead of guys like Gurley and Yeldon. He gets compared to Jamaal Charles a lot by NFL scouts and what not. And for good reason. Kids a stud.

And its not just him we have to worry about. Their #2 RB is really really good as well, Corey Clement. They could have the best RB duo in the country next year.

This is going to be a grind it out, running the football game. And there is no way someone can sit here and say we are loaded at DL and WR. We have no idea what we have at those positions.

04/15/2014 - Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon put up some new art work on the walls of his apartment. Nothing trendy though, just some pictures to give him some extra motivation: the logos for the 2014 season opener between LSU and the Badgers and the season-ending college football playoffs are among the additions. The most precious item represents a goal that will be the toughest to attain: a picture of the national championship trophy. Gordon is dreaming big after bypassing an opportunity to go to the NFL. "They're up in my bedroom. I'm looking at those every day. When I wake up I see them," he said after the Badgers' spring game.

Haha I was just being sarcastic man. I'm all onboard the LF train, but I've seen Gordon play and he's very good.

In my opinion though, when Gurley is healthy he's #1 in the country. But one could make a good argument either way.

I'm not as worried about our DLine as I am our WRS. I think our defense will find ways to make their offense sputter. If we can't move the chains though, it's gonna be ugly.

Yep

Gordon is a legit heisman guy. I've been talking him and Brett Hundley up a lot lately

Myles Jack is a beast too out of UCLA.

Anybody who thinks just because Wisconsin is not in the SEC, they aren't worth our respect is an ignorant fool. Wisconsin will be one of our most formidable opponents next year. They will have a strong team. National ranking is 55th? Why or how in the heck are they always a top 10 contended in the final rankings?

re: Wisconsin's Talent Gap

Yeah I know what youre saying. Especially about Gurley. He def could be the best college back. But I think Gordon has a game better suited to what the NFL does now a days.

Regardless, Gurley and Gordon both are locks to go in the 1st round next year. When was the last time 2 RBs went in the 1st? Been a few years.

And Im def more worried about our WRs than DL. We actually have 2 DTs with solid experience in games on the DL in QT and Loc. WRs.... just Dural. Plus, WR need a QB. And we still arent sure who will be our QB and what kinda QB he will be like.

There is a lot of talent that goes unnoticed in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Stanford snatched Ben Gardner out of Wisconsin and he was the lowest rated player in that front seven last year.

Hundley won't win the Heisman. He lacks the poise but that is just my opinion after watching him the last two years. I am just not a big fan of the OC at UCLA - dude's playcalling is a huge constraint.

Stopped reading there. LSU will be fine at the skill levels in this game. Our inexperience on offense will mirror their inexperience on defense.

And we will have the talent edge no doubt. I'd be disappointed if LSU didn't win by three scores.

It will be close because of growing pains with the o. Not because of Les. This shite really is old. The dude will be here as long as he wants. Just enjoy it for once.

re: Wisconsin's Talent Gap

Miles has 17 games against OOC BCS teams.
He has 15 wins and 2 losses.
The two losses are by a combined 3 points.
Three of the 15 wins are by less than a TD.
One is by a TD.
The remaining 11 of the 17 games against OOC BCS teams under Miles were double digit LSU victories.
In 8 of the 17, LSU won by 3 TDs or more.

But yea, we'll probably lose or just barely win because that's what Miles always does because he sucks.

You forgot that Miles is money in opening games. Still hasn't lost one at LSU.
