Roy Hibbert is often talked about as one of the best centers in the game,

I think that is because there is only a handful in the league that are technically "centers". I think he's good, but he's often lazy and doesn't show up.

He's been overrated since he played well in the playoffs.

It happens every year. Someone not as well known during the regular season has a decent playoffs and it shoots them up to near superstar status.

swing and a miss.

If an almost completely done UD can dominate Hibbert he's no where near as useful as how you described him. Call it an objective view

I love how on this board, both Paul George and Roy Hibbert are unbelievably overrated, yet they are arguably the two most important pieces on the #1 team in the East.

Morons gon' moron, I guess.

Oh, and Roy Hibbert has at least a puncher's chance of being DPOY.

He's overrated to the people that only watch the playoffs every year, and think in terms of the entire league.

He's a great fit for the Pacers' defensive philosophy.

Id take Marc Gasol over him
Another bold take.

Who would take Hibbert over those 2?

Gasol is the best center in the NBA. He's the opposite of Hibbert. He's very underrated
Howard is the best, by a comfortable margin.

It can be both, not sure what you're implying.

Gasol
Noah
Jefferson
Jordan
Duncan
Bogut
Aldridge - Not sure if he counts

Eta: Howard

Gasol, Noah, and Howard are the ONLY three I'd take over Hibbert.

Boogie Cousins has more talent, but he's also more likely to go to jail on an assault charge.

If they were the same age, I'd agree. Hibbert has more long term potential.
