Philosophically, who owns this land? The government owns nothing; The people own this land. Everything the government pays for is funded entirely by taxpayers dollars.
You have to be naive if you think this is about grazing fees. The IRS has $300 billion in outstanding taxes that they aren't collecting on.
IRS Owed 300 BILLION!
Not to mention the State Department can't account for 6 BILLION dollars over the last 6 years.
State Department missing 6 BILLION.
Don't you think the response to Bundy is a bit unbalanced? I'm proud that American's will still stand up for their fellow man.
I think people should read the Declaration of Independence. Our ancestors fought for sovereignty in conditions much less oppressive than what we face now.

I agree that the federal government is EXTREMELY too large and powerful and that things need to change, but I don't see Bundy's situation as the one to get riled up about and Bundy as the man to form ranks around.

This was my whole reasoning for even posting in this thread. Why this guy? Surely there is someone more legitimate to rally behind.

How do you rationalize that position with the knowledge that the west thrived with MILLIONS of American Buffalo roaming and grazing on these lands? The Desert Tortoise managed to survive that, certainly 900 cattle aren't a significant endangerment.
Again, only the naive believe this is about taxes. Bundy may even have prescriptive rights to utilize that land.
I don't really care what your political persuasion is. The federal government is out of control.
