Absolutely, most games lack excitement, and most games now are decided by walks and errors. The casual fan at Alex Box would rather stay home and watch on TV. Since we're drawing about 6000 on a good night, you can figure the other 4000 who paid for tickets but do not attend are those casual baseball fans.

Yesterday when we were down by 4 I knew it was over. That is not American, you should feel reasonably confident you can score 5 on Sunday relievers....of course without the threat of a big inning, coaches just leave their horses on the mound.

Tickets are still cheap yet LSU is going up on TAF charges next year.

Concessions are a joke

Ticket prices for baseball are scheduled to increase next season also. $1/game as I recall.

Its not just the style, its so predictable:

Friday: Ace v Ace, 2-1 or 3-2, 8 hits total;

Sat: Minor Ace v. Minor Ace: 3-2 or 4-3, maybe 10 to 12 hits total;

Sun: If you have a decent arm left (like Ark Sunday) you win big, if you dont its a shoot out.

Baseball should not be this way.

Baseball is hard to watch and boring enough already, now they have dumbed it down even more. It's like watching a 3-0 Bama/LSU slugfest in football from 1967. No one wants to see that. If you can't get hits and runs, the pitchers have all the advantage, and the defense is so skilled that nothing gets past them, what's the point of playing offense in the first place.

People can't invest 3 hours of their life every weekend watching a pitcher hurl 90 mph balls and 'a swing and a miss' by every batter.

What does this have to do with the bats?

They won't be next season so hopefully that drives crowds back up. Plus the new ball.

I figured the SEC Network would put more games on TV? Or is it that 75% of the games this year are on basic cable, and SEC Network won't be basic cable?

SEC Network is just one station. There are 7 games a day with most of them at the same time. With no GZ or CST, you can see how this would mean LSU will have fewer games available to view on tv. Now if the SEC Network has an online option...

I don't think that's set in stone, but everything I've heard is that it will be out

imo, there is NO DOUBT that the new bats have taken A LOT of excitement out of college baseball. they went too far. yes, we need to protect the pitchers but this is ridiculous. this is going to reverse the growth of college ball around the country, LSU included. suddenly, you are overpaying for a game because it is boring to you. I love pitchers duel and I love good fielding and good baserunning. most of the people I know love friggin home runs. Even I want to see more homers, doubles, and triples; it is now an occasional thing.

See, I felt it gaining great momentum 2005-2010. Lots of great players and growing programs in that era.

2011-current has been a joke. Maybe it's players. College used to feature hitters like Buster Posey, Jason Castro, pedro Alvarez, Dustin Ackley, Evan Longoria, Troy Tulowitzki, etc. not that long ago.

The last two drafts really only had one hitter on their level and that's Kris Bryant. Maaaaaybe Colin Moran. Maybe it's just a few down years with college hitters. That or colleges are completely ignoring bigger guys (like Bryant, Castro, Longo, Tulo, Alvarez) and going for the small ball guys who are 5'7 140 lbs, leaving the bigger guys to get drafted.

yep. MLB is a LOT more interesting to watch than college baseball now.

MLB still has some pretty prolific stars and hitters in it. I wish they would juice the ball a little more (tighten, not steroids), but overall, I think it's a great mix of speed/power in the game now.

Nope. Sitting ten rows from the field at the end of the Nats dugout yesterday was quite enjoyable watching the Braves' HR, triples & doubles derby erupt, plus Harang was on it again, then LaRoche got a cheapie off a rookie reliever. There was some wind in effect yesterday, but those guys were driving balls all game long. Zobrist, 2B for the Rays, hit 2-2 run HRs, 1 from each side of the plate yesterday. Power in MLB is just fine, even in "fair" parks.

I have a hard time taking this LSU team as a true contender. Then again, that can be said about many of the SEC teams this season. Does every team have enough holes in the roster to make them "average" and 2 W's over .500 in conference a great achievement? Maybe it is. When a legit Sunday guy makes himself known it would help my focus. I still catch many of the LSU games on GZ or other, but is more in bits and pieces vs constant viewing.

Subject to blackouts like ESPN3 too? B/c that won't do me any good.

Only if the stuff is already on another network. Stuff that is produced by LSU (like current GZ broadcasts) would be on there.
