You really don't think Nevers petition restrictions have anything to do with St. George? If not, you are either naive or stupid.

Nevers proposal was to simply limit St. George's efforts to get signees to the petition. Now whether or not they can get those signatures in the now instituted time frame of 18 months is another issue. Nevers is your typical big government Democrat. The fact that he brought this up, simply means that someone is greasing his palm. Why else would a democrat propose legislation that doesn't affect his area and then have the restrictions further tightened by another Democrat in Dorsey?
The simple fact is this is Democrats being Democrats. Wanting to limit the power and choice of the citizens.

And as someone else said, if St. George is just some small time threat, why go through all this to set a timetable.

What pressure? He invited the SG bigots to meet with him to discuss their concerns. They did and he amended his bill to address their concerns. Why do you continue to lie?

but SG is being told to be ready for Nov. 4th. or else.

The SG people have said they plan on having the election on that date anyway. Stop being so melodramatic. You're posting like a post-menopausal woman.

I don't think you can say this...

immediately after saying this...

Because the whole process is an unknown which looms over Baton Rouge and EBR whether or not it has a chance to succeed.

If you don't realize that "you are either naive or stupid."

On a side note, my wife volunteered with the Bar association to handout Easter eggs at the Public Schools. The school she was at, i believe, was university Terrace. (or maybe it was another "terrace" i don't remember the name).

But she further reinforced the fact that we will never send our kids to public school. She said the whole time she was there, not a single second of it was spent on education. She said she doubts that any kid there would ever pass the leap tests.

While this bill does still piss me off as an obvious attempt to change the rules midstream, I am not worried about it for two reasons: first, I don't think it will pass, and even if it does I don't think Jindal will let it become law. Second, I think the signatures will bet in place before the deadline imposed by this bill if it were to pass.

On to the bill by Ted James which would be a constitutional amendment to allow a vote of the entire parish and not just those wishing to incorporate a new city. I have a question- this is a constitutional amendment, so it requires a vote of the entire state to be enacted, right? Wouldn't that vote take place at the next election, which is in November? If the St. George election is scheduled for the same date, then isn't this bill rather pointless as it relates to St. George? And James has made it clear that St. George is the reason for this bill.

Is anyone else a little surprised they still do Easter celebrations in public schools?

Russian calls peoples bigots, liars, idiots, etc. on a regular basis.

He is SG's ace in the hole as the face of the SG opposition.

He's also the guy that told everyone here our sales tax rate was going up to 11% despite proof to the contrary from numerous posters.

And to reinforce just how bad he is, one day he says;
quote:

Browning seems like a classy guy,
and that;
quote:

We need more people like him in our community.

And today he lumps Browning in with a group of bigots.

You can't make this stuff up folks.

Good post sir, and if I had to guess they would "retroactively ' abolish the SG election somehow. Yes I'm being silly, but the efforts being made to stop SG are so transparent and so desperate, you have to wonder.

Are these people close to pulling this off?

If SG is such a done deal as you claim it is, why do you care what I think about it?

Your arrogance is showing sir. I could care less what you think about it.

What I care about is the misinformation and half truths you post here. I want people here to have solid information and not your BS..

After all some here could possibly vote on this issue one day and if they had good information they may vote my way. Or at the very least help SG get their school district going even if they weren't for a city.

On the other hand, you can't even vote. You don't live in SG. So who cares what you think?

I think you and people like Delgado are helping to further the St. George push more than any commercial or billboard ever could.
