While it sounds reasonable to expect a second year QB to be able to move the ball, I think it's unfair to say if he doesn't he never will.

Russel was a second year QB in 04 and was very inconsistent, randle had to play half the season. And Russell was one of the most talented QBs we've ever had when he left. Perilloux only put up 13 points of offense against a mediocre Tennessee team as a third year QB when forced to start in 07. And he had as much raw tajent as we've ever had at QB. Sometimes it just takes longer to click. Not every QB is a Jonny football or Winston.

no, not a joke. It's quite reasonable to expect a guy with ability, who has been in a program over a year and who has had some (although limited game experience), to be able to play well, especially in his second year.

Still floats the ball toooooo much...recipe for disaster....as was the case in the Spring game....although he certainly improve.

I think of all the questions going into the season, ST's will rock out and surprise a lot of people!

The punters looked absolutely atrocious at the spring game.

Defense is the clear answer here.

Jennings is a Sophmore with 2 Spring Practices ,2 Fall Practices and one full Season as a Backup QB. If he does not have it now he will never have it!

is this a joke?

While I think he is being harsh, I also see his point. There are plenty of QBs across the country who manage to perform well with this amount of experience.

Only at LSU do we think that a QB needs to start for a couple of years before he's not god awful.

Someone gets it. What about Matt Flynn? Guess we should have given up that season because he never got to start.

What a fricking ridiculous standpoint to say the kid will never improve.

Defense obviously but I think the offense will be decent. I see it being a feast or famine situation and inconsistent. But I can see a lot of big back breaking plays from the youngsters.

2011 lite. D will b fast and physical and we run the ball until the rant grabs pitchforks and torches. Not calling undefeated but we will win 10 running the ball and causing chaos and confusion.

Defense will win the day, but the offense will be no slouch.

We'll run the ball very well and throw downfield a lot which is what Cam's offense is about. I don't have an opinion on the QBs yet because I have seen time and again improvement in fall camp from several QBs around the nation.

We think that because it's what history has shown us. Name one single QB under Les Miles that has flourished in his first year of starting...just one. Even Mett who was all world and starting as a junior who had already been in the system for a whole year looked completely lost his first 8 games or so. People need to face facts and lower expectations on the QB spot.

We struggle every time for 2 years or more each time a new QB comes in. Then we have one good year of QB'ing (the senior year), then we start all over with someone else again and have to wait 3 more years for them to produce. It's a pattern.

This "pattern" has not even happened once.

If we can get good QB play then both sides of the ball should be strongest.

But you're forgetting the biggest thing here. Cam Cameron is now with LSU.
