.. I get to see all the posters that know real baseball. Not paper baseball.

I will throw out some paper numbers.

You should go be a Gnats fan. You obviously only care about hitting and think fielding/base running aren't important, so that team should be right up your alley.

You have to get on base to count base running.

Funny you bring up getting on base. Freeman has a career OBP only .012 points higher than JHey.

what's worse, thinking that heyward has been better overall, freeman was better last year, freeman is playing better so far this year, and heyward is better, or obsessing over someone thinking this?

I'll admit I like Heyward on this team. I just think he hasn't hit his potential. Not sure if he ever will, but my feelings wouldn't be hurt if they signed him long term. But I wouldn't offer as much as FF got.

Funny you judge guys on fielding and base running and then your peeps put Miggy in great category.

Oh my gosh, JHey can walk. Woohoo

Wait time out are you saying Freeman is in the same stratosphere as Miggy as a hitter?

Nope. I'm sure he is just an elite hitter. Not great player. Doesn't fit all the categories.

Oh you mean the same guy who was the first to win the Triple Crown in 45 years? That guy? Yeah I think he maybe should get a pass on base running and fielding.

Look, I think Freddie is a great player I really do. I am sure I am one of the people you are directing your angst at. I would rather have Jason on my team, just my personal preference.

But back to the MIggy comp, when you put up the numbers Miggy puts up every year, I don't care if you need to crawl the bases.

If Freeman continues to improve at the plate and becomes a Joey Votto-type hitter or better (as some people have suggested), then I could definitely see him becoming a better player than Heyward.

Right now though, Heyward has shown more. Consistency needs to improve, but Heyward's best years have been better than Freeman's best year so far imo.

Put me with okie though. Very glad we have both.

whatever helps you sleep at night after trading him and Yu for Miggy

Give me a break. Miggy is on a Hank Aaron-type trajectory as a hitter. Freeman is nowhere close to that right now.

Heyward dreams of being half the player Freeman will become. Braves signed the best contract possible for this guy. They will let Heyward walk, unfortunately. He adds something to the team, but Heyward thinks he is worth more. He is not.

But you have to field and run. Your categories, not mine.
