Currently the costs would be shouldered by the Feds. Later . . . not so much.
When correspondant state obligations kick in, the chickens will come home to roost.
That would be a swell argument except that it doesn't fly when Louisiana is helping other states to get a 9 to 1 return on their dollars.
Like I said, Jindal lost the battle about Medicaid expansion. His argument only matters if the package for the entire country had been defeated. Right now it's all just sour grapes, apparently designed to portray himself as some hardlined rightwinger in his desire for national office.

Shouldn't you be happy about this? I have little doubt you are one of the folks who whine about Louisiana being one of the states who receive more Fed dollars than they contribute, right?
Jindal's just trying to pay some of it back
Shorter: there's more to the story in both cases. Don't be a hack.

Then Louisiana reduces its own payments. Suppose the sky starts falling, too?

I'm have more of a concern about ole Mary using COE resources and money to widen and dredge the bayou going to her family's camp so they can get the big boat up there.
Perhaps all these loans taken out against social security to the Chinese to keep paying for all the special interest projects.
Go frick your dog Rex. If you are mad at Jindal screwing your Medicare hand out, go somewhere else.

You enjoy paying for things you don't get?
I frequently see supporters of Obama cite statistics that Louisiana receives more in federal spending per capita than its residents pay in taxes. If those statistics are true, then the statement of yours I quoted is not true unless the state of Louisiana is paying more for what you think we are not getting from this one decision than the amount we were receiving in excess of what we were paying cited by others.

You just described about half of all expenditures of income taxes.
You will probably say it is a safety net available to all, but I have heard far too many first hand accounts of despite being married with kids and earning barely above minimum wage; they were actually advised by the workers to work less to gain eligibility.
That isn't a safety net to help people back on their feet and therefore nothing that applies to most of the posters here even if the shite hits the fan.

Okay Rexella I'll play the bad thread titles Bozo side of things. "Killing Americans Bozo needs to stop his lies on every death of a citizen working without any protection or enforcement of federal govt. taking a stand against the perpetrators. Take a peek at border agents doing their job and dying with guns supplied with guns from the DOJ. For a more in your face death from the Bozo side of the street take a look at the remote control deaths out of northern Florida. How many deaths(don't forget collateral damage) came from the skies in the form of a drone with out a trial?
Did those people deserve a trial but not given a chance of one? Approaching the two year anniversary we can add to the total the numbers by four at an embassy ant the administration still relies on lies and subterfuge to cover up the truth about that one. See how easy it is to pay the blame game when you actually have an argument with respect to real deaths adding up.

The issue has never been about insurance.

I used this method when voting for in local elections when I was in college and didn't know the candidates.
I just got a copy of the Shreveport Times and voted against everyone they endorsed.

Jindal is publically arguing that the cost to the state down the road will be too expensive to make it worth while now. But, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that the main reason he's against it is to continue to build his resume' for his national asperations. Everything he does is with that in mind. Note how quickly his stance on the cigarette tax renewal changed once language was substituted that took any "new tax" ramifications off the table.

No Jindal is right here,I'm no Jindal fan . But expanding Medicade will be to big of a cost a state like LA once the Feds put 10% of the payments on us. And If you don't believe that just do alittle research. State taxes would have to be raised to pay for moochers who are getting more and more of the money that I work for. I say frick'em move to a state that gives it. We can't afford it!
