You can't support using land you don't own and claim property rights.
The divide is between people who have sense and follow the law and anarchists who hide behind the framework of states rights.

What gives the Feds the right to sieze so much of state land? What is the justification? And if his family has been on the land for 140 years, he has as much claim to it as the Feds.

This apparent conflict ceases to exist if you don't accept the idea that a government can legitimately own property. If it is unused, and he improves upon the land, or simply uses it, with no one else to dispute the claim - who has been harmed? Who has been aggressed against?
