Would be funny for sure... But weren't almost all of the overseas markets down big over night?

If you are young and have cash, this is great news! Pile into those dividend aristocrats and hold, baby!

There was no correction. It was money coming out of the momo high flyers with crazy valuations. Money going back in to more reasonable names.

Wouldn't that be a "Correction"

And why does "correction" always mean "down"? If the market goes up, is that "incorrect?"

Pretty sure it could be on both ends...
Shitty Economy, low dividends, flood to speculative/growth stocks = Correction
Better Economy, High Dividents, flood from speculative to tried and true = Correction

Incredible. Seems like yesterday Google was at $614 (split-adjusted) and now in the low $530s.

The market always tends to move in ways that will cost the most people the most money.
If sentiment is down, it goes up, etc.
I feel like a big drop is imminent, but that just tells me it will keep going up more. When it is dangerous is when you think it will never go down.
I am an options player. Buy calls on big down days, and buy more on bigger down days. Wait a week and scale out of calls as the rebound occurs. As you scale out if calls, scale into puts.
I usually follow 5 or so stocks, and follow this plan. Has been working well for a long tine for me.
But who knows. There are way smarter cats than me running around out there.

Depends on your own personal definition. Personally, I want to see a break in the 200 DMA to get excited about a "correction".
