Yep sure seems like they do. Highly drafted kids that end up going to college. Happens very rarely for us. I can think of a few off the top. Zeringue, Goss, Bregs. But seems like they get 1st rounders to show up.

Bregs was not highly drafted but he was highly touted

If not for the injury, he would've never stepped foot on campus. Same with Ranaudo, I think? Maybe Gausman?

LHP Jake Godfrey committed in March. Originally committed to Notre Dame....#41 player in the country according to Baseball America.

I don't follow college baseball recruiting as much as college football, but for those of you that do...

Not including the players that sign pro deals, does LSU often (or ever) miss on players they want?

May sound like a homer, but it's hard to imagine a better place to place college baseball than LSU.

Mac Marshall LHP, Alex Lange RHP, Greg Deichmann SS, Jake Latz LHP, and Jake Godfrey RHP all all highly rated prospects.

Out of those names the only one I would have at a highly probable chance to sign is Marshall.

Lange, Latz, and Godfrey are all solid arms who would contribute immediately if they make it to campus.

Deichmann is the cream of the hitters in the class. Bobby Bradley 3B and Grayson Bryd SS are two kids who no one should sleep on.

Dunn and Sanchez went for power arms and power hitters in this class and hopefully it doesn't come to bite them with the draft.

What do you think about Papierski?

And do you have any recent reports on Bain?

Still a hard commit to LSU. Was sent this video in an email a few weeks ago...don't have game to game stats on him.

He's a kid with a great frame and obviously the ability to switch hit. He's kinda been flying under the radar this spring, would love to see him mature in college.

Here's a video I found of him taking batting practice last week.

I think this class has the potential to be 2007 and 2010 talented if the stars align.

As in sign with a pro team = not coming to LSU

Doesn't sign with a pro team = coming to LSU

Do I sense a little sarcasm in your post?

Yes. The recruiting police are this way --->

What exactly were you asking about "highly probable chance to sign" with a question mark

I asked what you were insinuating when you made that comment. I wasn't being a dick, I just wasn't sure if you meant he'd sign a pro deal, or sign with LSU.

Sorry for the confusion. As of today I would expect Mac Marshall to sign.

I'm going to bump the original commitment thread to add some new video. Has anyone heard of any juco names? We're not losing much so we may not see as many as usual. Maybe a pitcher that we could slot into the rotation, but we really should be in good shape just about everywhere.

Are we going after power hitters again because of the ball change looming?

We need to go after power hitters now regardless. They still have a place in this game IMO even though we will never see the numbers we used to.
