I applaud your justification. That's the kind of shite i wanna see tomorrow in my mock
I should have just typed up those three guys during lunch because I figured they'd all be there.

What were your other possibilities?
Posted on 4/10/14 at 6:07 pm to HollierThanThou
Morgan Moses or Austin Seferian-Jenkins.
I was also targeting WRs, especially Jordan Matthews because I thought he would be there and fit the type I wanted.
I think the D is well off enough that offense had to be addressed.

I would have let Carlos Hyde stick, Hill is borderline silly. If you PayPal me $1, I'll change it

I just don't like something about Hyde. I did look at him though.
And that's quite alright. I'll keep my dollar. I'd rather spend it on something I'll shite out later than text on a screen.

The world is now centered

So I definitely didn't just throw the name out there with no reasoning.
Hill in the 1st, more than likely, won't happen in real life, but it could.
Everything you've written is well founded and true. People forget we fricking traded back into the 1st to get Ingram and please don't blow smoke up my arse that Hill isn't as good as Ingram.
Like I said, Hill won't go in the first, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if he did.

Everybody talks about the perceived devaluing of RBs .. that doesn't mean the coaches and teams feel that way. It's plausible to think that the top RB on the board could go in the late 1st or early to mid 2nd round. It might not, but it's unfair to say it would never happen.

I think Hill will be a great value pick for someone and one of the steals of the draft when looking back.
Runs with power and speed and very good vision.
Would love him on the Saints but don't see that playing out in the draft.
We don't have a speed back or a power back as I've said over and over again.
Can we get just one of those dagnabit!

Superbowl teams have to have one. We had Ivory and I can tell you he was a needed piece of the puzzle. Sometimes you have to have that bruiser to get the tough yards to close the game out. The only guy we have now that might fill that role is Robinson...we'll see if that happens.

Who saw Dallas grabbing Travis Frederick last year?
Who saw Seattle picking Bruce Irving 2 years ago?
no one. shite happens because a team is so highly infatuated with a player and think another team might be as well.
SF jumped rather quick to grab Reid when we picked Vaccaro.

I'm glad some of you can see the reasoning even if you don't agree with the pick.
The first part was that all the WRs were gone and that's where I really wanted to go.
And it wasn't a hands down pick after that. I deliberated and decided that for my scheme that a power back was the best way to go and that Hill was my guy, and I didn't trust waiting until the end of the second round and missing out on him.
There are other TEs and OTs that I can still grab later that I like almost as much as SJ and Moses, whereas there are no other power backs I have close to Hill.
And I knew as soon as I made the decision and had to quickly post without my reasoning that I would be slammed for it so that's why I wanted to come back and add in the why.
It looked like a homer pick(which I am not an LSU fan) at a position you would think wouldn't be a need(but most certainly will be in the next 2-3 years).
So I felt the time was now while the opportunity was there.

I think maybe a team like the Bengals could take Mosley or Shazier.
its weird, I thought there were a lot of Shazier haters on here but he ended up being the guy on this mock

All the top CBs, WRs, LBs outside of Shazier, and Ebron are all gone.
What you have left is one decent corner, taking a DL guy or a "hybrid" who really isn't a hybrid and is just a small DE, or reaching for a 2nd round WR.

Honestly if we were in the situation we were today I pray we would have traded back.
Posted on 4/11/14 at 1:24 am to Isaid
Definitely. It really wasn't a good spot and we really would have to reach to get a position we should be targeting or take a position that we should be looking at later.
