A team outside of South America has never won a Cup in South America. Brazil and Argentina would seem like favorites but Columbia, Chile, and Uruguay could make some noise. Chile is in a tough group but if they can make it out I think they can do well. I can see Italy doing well too.

At this point it seems that all of the dark horses have become favorites; i.e. Belgium, Columbia, Chile...While the traditional powers, especially those coming from Europe, have been sort of written off.

I'll take Nederland as a dark horse, bright as they may be in reality. My original pick was Uruguay, but that was before Suarez truly exploded. They seem to be a pretty popular pick among soccer hipsters now.

My main concern with picking Belgium to do any better than winning a first knockout match is simply that they'd most likely get Argentina at that point.

Or, they'll likely get Germany in the first knockout round if they don't win their group.

You know, for all the talk Rooney gets about being a bit of a wanksta, ya boy has some serious trailer park in him.

It's just because they know what Suarez is willing to do to go forward in the World Cup.

I have a feeling Belgium will fare just fine with Lukaku in Benteke's spot.

If saurez does Suarez things I could see Uruguay making a surprise run.

That's without looking at the path they'd have to go through though

I think the rest of the world is just lucky that Tahiti didn't qualify.

Chile can do work, they just have to avoid Brazil. I'm so passed they'll likely see them in the second round.
