It took me 15 minutes to know what the score was last night after turning it on. He never says the score mid inning. It's annoying as hell.

I love Jim but the way he says PEEnalized pisses me off every single time i here it. The tigers PEEnalized 5 yards...

See, you aren't even doing it right. That is Dan Borne' who does that.

And he has always done that. I remember being a student in the 80's and hearing that. We used to just say the Tigers were "dick-alized" too much...

Last season it was calling the last play of the game and saying (example) "ground ball to second.. Throw over to 1st" "and that'll retire the side." It was like he was calling the end of the 2nd inning or something. There was no mention the game just ended

Are you fricking kidding me? That's an example of something that drives you crazy? That's some weak shite.

What a bunch of pussies you all are. Nothing but complaining, bitching, whinning and more complaining.

You all sound like a gaggle of women having all "that time of the month".

Actually, most people on here are just having a civilized discussion about Jim Hawthorne's weaknesses.

You are the one that sounds like you're PMSing

He did it every single game. Treating the last out of the game like it was the last out of the 3rd inning. It was a weak and lazy call.

It really is weird though that Hawthorne is so much worse at baseball than the other two.

I really like that Hannagriff knows what's going on so well, but he can be so damn boring.

Hannagriff puts me to sleep. Anyone suggesting him over Hawthorne can't be taken seriously.

The OP and some of the other haters in this thread do sound like PMS sufferers.

The negative guys are pissing into the wind because Hawthorne is loved by most fans more than anyone else with LSU sports. Anyone not knowing that fact is clueless about what is going on at LSU.

This is so dumb. Do you actually listen to what they say? Or just prefer the noises that come from Jim's mouth? Content means nothing to you, I guess. Charlie actually knows the game of baseball. Which is sort of important when calling a baseball game.

Funny he said that, because i dont take anyone seriously who would prefer jim over charlie for baseball.

I guess those that follow lsu baseball casually prefer jim.
Seems like the diehards prefer charlie

This thread again?? Damn. Not going back to read all of it, but did anyone break new ground?

Oh, and how many "Jack Hunt" comments were there...and how many "deep fly ball to center...caught by the shortstop" jabs were taken? Those never get old

Why should we not take him for granted? If he was good about calling baseball games, id agree. He couldnt even be in the top 50% of college baseball announcers.

Not sure there are divisions that clear. I have seen every combination liked and disliked here.

Hawthorne-Hanagriff
Wright-Hanagriff
Hanagriff-Coogan or Rantz

If I had to take a vote on which I would like to see going forward, I would say Wright/Hanagriff....but in the grand scheme of things it just isn't that huge of a deal to me to debate it every 3-4 days.

radio broadcasts are for people who cannot watch the game, for the most part (some people listen while watching). If you are in the majority who listens because they can't watch, Hawthorne is terrible at his job. He is suppose to accurately paint a picture of what is happening in real time...he does not do this, not even close.

i get that he is a legend blah blah but he is not good at his job and most people who aren't good at their jobs get fired.

it would be interesting to see how much he makes per year
