Now restructure Hawthorne and sign jimmy long term so we would not pay that one year tag price then we will be good to go drafting.

Restructuring Hawthorne can only save, at most, ~$300k.

Restructuring Hawthorne is like flipping cow shite in a pasture. No matter how you restructure it, it still is a shitty deal

They aren't restructuring Hawthorne. He's going to be cut next year and save roughly half his cap hit. If they can get an ILB in the draft it will help them a lot next year.

I know it seems like a pay cut and it may be, but did anyone confirm his future cap hits didn't change?

All the op says is that he changed his base this year and didn't really specify it as a cut or if the future years got added to.

"Bunkley cut his 2014 salary from $4.5 million to $1.65 million. His base salary in 2014 is now $1.3 million and he will receive a $300,000 roster bonus on April 10.

His base salary in 2015 and 2016 will remain at $4.4 million."

This does nothing to help as it only mentions his base salaries and not if he got a signing bonus in future years.

I think one of the tweets that someone posted mentioned he was willing to do it since he realized the market wouldn't bear out well for him, so I think that is where the assumption is being made.

CJ is best case scenario that's a legit outside shot, but I can't imagine him falling. Outside of a consensus top 5-7 player in the draft, this is the player I want the most.

That could be speculation though. I would say the same thing, that this is very likely a pay cut because his position was weak.

Just wanted to know if it was confirmed for sure.

Not sure if Trip is just assuming or actually reporting it, but he says the last 2 years of Bunkley's contract remains untouched(as opposed to just saying the base salaries).

"Bunkley will make a total of $1.65 million this year, including a $300,000 roster bonus due Thursday. The final two years of his five-year contract were not affected, though they will likely have to be addressed again in the future."

Yeah I know that's more than likely(and I was saying he would either take a pay cut or get cut this year).

I just wanted to know if the implications of cutting him were worse or the same as before.

Seems they are the same and he will save $2.89m if cut(with $3.23m dead money). If he's a June 1st cut next year he saves $4.5m. So yeah unless he takes another pay cut(rare) he is definitely gone.

Even when the Bush contract processes, it won't be a big hit because he was already counting 1.4 mil against the cap correct?
