I ate pop tarts for breakfast almost every morning for probably 15 years. Then, about 6 months ago, I just woke up and didn't want one and haven't wanted on since. About a month ago, I picked up a box of the ol faithful Frosted Cinnamon pop tarts and its been sitting in my pantry since with just one pack missing.

I was just thinking this morning that I need to find something something quick, easy, and transportable like that again. Ideas??

Fruit.

What he said. Or make you a grain/oat and fruit smoothie.

I eat an apple or a banana every morning to get my metab going. Then every 2.5 hours after that I'm eating something.

My wife makes breakfast for us family-style and puts it on the table in the morning. She takes the "most important meal of the day" quite seriously since we have had kids. The usual is:

OJ/Milk/Coffee

Eggs scrambled for the kids, Over Easy for me.

Bacon or Sausage (sometimes boudin if I'm lucky, but I'm only allowed one piece)

Toast

Grits

Fruit Salad (something like: orange, banana, strawberry, apple, blueberry)

The non-usual on weekends is:

Pancakes, Beignets, or waffles

Couche-Couche

Pain Perdu

Quiche

Home made Baguette with preserves

Eggs Benedict/Florentine

I end up burning the calories up during the day. And I usually don't eat but a salad for lunch. As opposed to when I never ate breakfast, and was a big supper type guy. Back then I would eat a big supper and go to sleep not too long after. That's one way not to burn off those calories.

Mon.-Fri: a cup or two of coffee. and either a very small bowl of cereal or a toasted bagel. then a banana around 10am.

Sat. & Sun: big, traditional breakfast. eggs, bacon/sausage, grits, english muffins. or pancakes/waffles.

I always eat something. I try to eat eggs, meat and veggies every morning.

My go to breakfast:
3 fried eggs, 2 pieces of bacon with a side of steamed broccoli, steamed greens (collard, turnip, kale mix), sautéed spinach/kale or whatever veggie leftovers are in the fridge.

Other times I'll just eat a burger patty with some veggies.

I get up around 6:00 or 6:15 and start the coffee. I have a large cup or two before my wife and kids leave the house. Then I dash to get ready and leave myself. I get to work, and then either have some oatmeal, and a cup of coffee from my Keurig, or I go downstairs to where the food court area is in the office building next door and get a bacon egg and cheese wrap, or a biscuit. Every now and then I'll walk into the Chick Fil A that is on the way in, but usually the line is way too long before 8:00.

Every Saturday morning as far back as I can remember I've cooked bacon and eggs, and occasionally some toast or biscuits to go with it. I've usually got a busy day planned doing yard work, or some type of home renovation work, or we have a bunch of kids activities to take my girl to. So I like to load up at breakfast and then I can go until at least 3:00 before Lunch.

This is closer to my regimen. Mon-Fri I eat greek yogurt with a litle granola and pound 1 large coffee (down from 2).

I rarely eat breakfast on the weekends.

IMO, the best option is to make egg muffins.

1.) In a muffin pan, place beaten eggs in the muffin cups, fill about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way.

2.) Place a few leaves of spinach or kale leaves in the egg. (or a tblsp of sauteed greens).

3.) Place some diced meat of your choice (bacon, sausage, etc).

4.) Place a little shredded cheese of your choice (mozz., parm, etc).

Bake at 300 until they puff up and are done, about 15 min or so.

Enjoy portable protein with veggies!

I make sure to eat breakfast every day to get my metabolism up and running. Since I've eaten breakfast, and the right food items, I've been able to shed a few pounds and not eat a heavy lunch.

I make sure my fridge at the office has my staples. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I eat two hard boiled eggs, a few slices of deli ham, and a cheese stick with my coffee. On Tuesday and Thursday I eat a packet of oatmeal with mixed berries and my coffee.

On weekends, I normally fry up a few strips of bacon and then some eggs in the grease. On Sundays, I eat a bowl of Muesli from Bob's Red Mill.

You are wrecking your metabolism. The body goes into starvation and mode and holds onto fat. You should eat 6-8 small meals throughout the day.

it is amazing what marketing can do. Breakfast companies spend 50 years telling people it's the most important meal of the day and it becomes scientific fact.

I've lost weight eating breakfast, not eating breakfast, eating carbs, not eating carbs, going low fat, going high fat, intermittent fasting, never missing a meal, etc.

The bottom line is calories in versus calories burned. Metabolism has zero to do with weight loss and/or health.
