I bet if we don't sign Byrd, a lot of people aren't saying KV.

PT and Junior as people, players, and underdogs.

Galette might be the most overlooked 12 sack player ever and PT is definitely one of the most overlooked players ever. Both are class acts(yes Junior is despite his fiery tendency to go off at times, which I love) and both love the city, fans, and organization.

You can throw Vaccaro, Jordan, Hicks, Lewis, Colston, and Stills up there and as for recently departed Smith, Harper, and Moore.

Regarding Brees, I didn't pick him because his nice guy act runs a little thin. I love him as a player and leader of the team.

As for Vaccaro, I'd like him the same with or without Byrd. I love his intensity, work ethic, production, and that tackling. That tackling man.

I think people overlook the importance of Payton a bit much. Without him I don't think Brees becomes clearly elite(I'd say borderline), and he has a huge effect on the team as a whole.

That said, Brees has definitely had a huge contribution towards our winning ways. I'm not calling him our savior.

That goes both ways though. Payton wouldn't be winning a Super Bowl with Cullpepper.

I agree with that, but he'd still have us in the hunt.

Like I said, Brees has made a huge contribution towards us winning. But without Payton we'd likely be what we were under Haslett: a .500 team that keeps barley missing the playoffs.

Both are very important but Brees usually gets most of the credit when it should be about 60/40 Payton.

I don't know about the guy's coaching because our LBs have never been more than just adequate under him, but I love his press conferences. And he definitely helps keep the team on track.

I do love Cam. He's probably my #3 and 1 on defense.

I think it's more of the "who's your favorite player NOT NAMED BREES" going on here. I answered by taking him out of the equation, because I believe he should be and is every Saints fan's favorite player of all time.

He's definitely high up there for me, like him, Vaccaro, and Colston would probably be tied after PT and Galette. I just like what the last two bring despite being overlooked constantly.

Big Underdog fan.

What about Gleason? I can understand that he's not anyone's favorite because he wasn't that impactful of a player... But man, what a story!

My mistake. I've only met him once and didn't even really talk to him. He really does seem just like a regular dude who happens to be enormous.
