MLS or some sort of international package. That's all I ask for.

Just get MLS Live for your computer and plug into the TV

its the best deal around at only $60 for every game live, as a replay, or in condensed form w/no regional team blackouts (except live games on national broadcasts like ESPN, NBCSN, Univision that you can watch later on replay)

And yes, Amazon is THE BEST company around, if not ever. From shopping to streaming they are 100% consumer friendly and conscious. Their return policy is unheard of; they accept returns on everything. I double bought a blu ray recently and emailed them about returning it. Not only did they offer me a refund, they told me to just keep both copies. I shop very few other places

I'm not really sure I need this device but I will probably end up buying it just because of how awesome Amazon is. Like you said, I want to give them my business because of how well the company is run and their great customer service.

this needs to be their priority. its the single biggest thing separating chromecast from every device.

Their whole philosophy is different. They took a shot a Apple and the iPad during one of their Kindle Fire launches saying something along the lines of "Some companies try and figure out how to charge you as much as possible for their products, we try and figure out how to charge you as little as possible." If any company is going to tilt the scales in the favor of consumers it's going to be Amazon.

streaming device

How much more popular do streaming devices have to get before the cable companies take notice? Is it going to take commercial revenue getting hit?

they're taking notice. in a big way. They are actively lobbying and suing to make sure those devices are gutted and neutered as much as possible so you are forced to remain slave to the cable companies. It's sickening.

Amazon: customers happy, employees happy, company uncharted growth still going - profits can wait as reinvesting is better anyway

Because they know consumption is imminent.

the chromecast pails in comparison was my point. until google fixes their mirroring and streaming, its a bad option.

If they can convince HBO to get away from having a TV subscription, I'd jump on it. Hell, if anyone could convince HBO to go that route, I'd be in.

Can't wait for the a la carte tv service. (if it ever happens) ESPN, HBO, AMC. that's about all I need, and the local channels. But I can get those for free with an antenna.

Couldn't agree more. I've been buying off Amazon for a few years have never had a problem with them. I bought a Sony DVD player last year and it was shipped by one of their participating companies and you could tell it was repackaged and missing parts. The seller wouldn't respond. The customer service department called me....let me say that again, they called me, and asked if the problem had been resolved. When I told her no, she said: "No problem, I'll issue you a credit and will send you the return info. I'll handle it with the seller."

I buy everything on Amazon.

If I could watch watchespn without the need for a cable provider I could save lots of money. For now cable companies are lucky ESPN hasn't gone the subscription route because I would think that ESPN keeps most people glued to cable providers. I think it is only a matter of time before major cable networks will set up apps that will let you hav no cable provider but still watch their shows. Other than sports channels I have no need for a cable provider i could watch all my shows on Hulu/netflix/amazon and be happy, but sports will keep me at-least for the foreseeable future with a cable provider.

Apparently profits can't wait - the rumor is that they're introducing this now because they're feeling so much pressure to curb losses.
