i believe the newest Firestorm can do organic matter as well. but neither were limited with density wise with inorganic. they could pretty much change whatever at will. he just seems to outmatch Zatanna.

All Iceman has to do is freeze him in place. Wolverine isn't strong enough unlike some on this list to break out of it.

/end of Wolverine vs Iceman debate

In all honesty though, Wolverine's powers pale in comparison to the powers of other mutants.

I think her Binary form is still applicable.

then do you not allow Hal's other forms? he can change rings, which alter things quite a bit. for example, red rings dont even use energy as their weapon.

Well, she can't do it at will. Like I said, it requires massive amounts of energy. That is one of the reasons Captain Atom is her dream opponent. If Hal chooses to fight her without constructs, it would even the playing field, or even move it in his direction.

its funny how overly powerful some of these characters appear after debating. im sitting here thinking "well then how the hell does anyone beat (insert hero)? that has to be a pretty crappy line of comics"

It all depends on the villain. Most heroes' archenemies are either their opposites or they negate the hero's powers.

Batman - Joker
Polar opposites of the spectrum.

Superman - Lex
Opposites. Superman can't use his powers against him.

Ms. Marvel - Mystique
Energy absorption is irrelevant.

Balls, this round is going to take some thinking. I'm also disappointed that Psylocke got beat by Hellboy.

what about mass wise? The only reason I ask is that the Firestorm wiki page says this: Firestorm has the ability to rearrange the atomic and subatomic structure of inorganic matter, rearranging subatomic particles to create objects of different atomic characteristics of equal mass.

Again, I'm not familar with this character and wiki could very well be wrong.

That isn't disappointment, that is complete bullshite.

Hellboy stands as much of a chance against Psylocke as I do against Wolverine.

Match #1
place #1: Firestorm
place #2: Zatana
--I'm going to give this one to Firestorm. My take on it is that Zatana thinks he's a demon (because of the flaming head) and tries to dispel his tie to reality (thus ending the match quickly by sending him home). The dispel doesn't work (since he's not a demon) and he realizes she's a mage so he creates a ball-gag in her mouth and binds her hands in solid steel mittens.

Match #2
place #1: Shazam
place #2: Hellboy
--Hellboy is strong and durable, but he's just not in the Shazam/Superman/Wonder Woman/Thor league.

Match #3
place #1: Wonder Woman
place #2: Black Bolt
--Wonder Woman over-powers Black Bolt but ties him in her lasso and commands him to say he yields. He does, she loses.

Match #4
place #1: Hulk (Planet Hulk)
place #2: Ghost Rider
--This is a strange one, so bear with me...

To beat the Hulk, the actual spirit needs to be in control of Ghost Rider, not the human host. The human host in control is badass, but not on Hulk level. With that, Hulk would need to have done something worthy of the Spirit of Vengance's attention. Just throwing them in an arena together doesn't cut it as, just as in the World War Hulk series, Ghost Rider just rides off since there's no punishment to mete out. Winner by default: Hulk.

Match #5
place #1: Superman
place #2: Power Girl
--Supes

Match #6
place #1: Spider-Man
place #2: Flash (Barry Allen)
--Fun fight, but Barry is just too fast for Peter.

Match #7
place #1: Ms. Marvel
place #2: Green Latern (Hal Jordan)
--Contrary to where others are going with this, I am going to take the stance that Ms. Marvel can absorb the green energy (it's energy, after all). With that, Hal falls almost as quickly as Captain Atom.

Match #8
place #1: Jean Grey
place #2: Thor
--Thor has a healthy telepathic resistance. While Jean is a strong telekinetic as well, her telekinesis is just not in the same class as Thor's might.

Binary would be akin to the Scarab, which was allowed.

Extra rings would be akin to "non-related augmentations" which are not. He wouldn't be "The Green Lantern" if he used other rings.

With that said, I don't think she needs Binary form to beat him, but it's a bonus if the fight goes on and on.

No way. She's not that powerful unless I'm arguing for her to beat Blue Beetle.

Mystique was the main reason Ms. Marvel lost her powers and memories. Just because she could beat her in a straight up fight doesn't mean she isn't her rival.

Hell, Batman destroys Joker in a straight up fight, but they are the definition of rivals.

GLs constructs are manifestations of an emotion. In a GL it's will. Yellow it's fears, etc. can marvel absorb emotions?

They control the rings through emotion. They energy isn't manifestations of the emotions.
