big thing that sticks out to me about Ford is that he had back injury in college.

caused him to take a medical redshirt.

he had a herniated disc.

don't hate anything about his game but picking a guy who has had some back problems in the 1st round... eh.

Things that will contribute to a guy with his talent level slipping to 27 if he does.

Honest question. Had anyone heard of Dee Ford BEFORE the National Championship game?

That last quote was basically a joke.

And I don't know what your point is.

Yes.

He blew up in the SEC championship game.
No doubt he is a one year wonder. What the FO makes of that we will see.

I wouldn't say so.

like I said, I have no problem with what he does on the field.

just wouldn't be jumping for joy if the Saints picked him. Back injuries can be pretty tricky.

You said Butler played very well in limited playing time.

I said so did Humber.

Butler generally gets mentioned like he's been, or will be, a stud.

Humber is generally mentioned as just ok, depth, and more of a situational player.

My point it that though both have shown signs, neither should be considered locks for anything. So, us taking Ford as Kiper suggests, isn't ludacris.

eta: I like you....so don't come at me bro.

herniated disc is a pretty common back injury. Its not like he had a spinal fusion or something

he was dominating during Senior Bowl week. Defensive linemen and OLB's tend to win a lot of those one-on-one drills though that they have at the practices.

But the big thing he seemed to be winning with was his quickness, not so much with power.

I'd like Ford over a WR fwiw.

I'm with you on the idea that we could get a WR later on in the draft because this year's depth at the position is stout.

And just to be clear since so many people miss my point, I'm not saying the Saints shouldn't or won't take a pass rusher. I'm saying all these so called experts ignoring the fact that we have very legit pass rushers at multiple spots that produced the 4th highest sack total are fricking idiots.

It's not a need. But it also isn't something to shy away from.

I'm not coming at you. I'm just trying to understand.

Humber has been decent in limited snaps.
Butler has actually been very good.

I'd say that's the difference.

If you hadn't you did not watch SEC football. He was pretty dominating in many games, including the Ole Miss and Texas A&M games fairly early in the season.

I know man...I was just messin around, I'm no internet tough guy.

Anyway, I've been lobbying for a WR (Cooks), so
that's where my heart is. At the same time, I totally get if we do take Ford, or a CB.

That said, I trust our FO. Vacarro was no where on my radar last year and was slightly disappointed in the pic. Clearly I don't know anything.

the only year he was dominate was in 2013.

I think he would have been better in 2012 but he was still kind of getting back into the groove after he missed a lot of time b/c of the herniated disc.

also, he missed the first two games of 2013 because of a knee injury. So I would say that makes what he did in 2013 all that more impressive.

he didn't participate in the Scouting Combine because of a lumbar spine issue.

i would rather Demarcus Lawerence in the 3rd over Ford. Ford has bust written all over him.

Ford needs to be able to cover if he wants to play SAM in our 3-4 or 3-3 alignments, something he doesn't have much experience doing. And Jordan seemed to play his best when lining up outside of the RT, something that doesn't happen when we go 3 DL. He's obviously very versatile, but it wouldn't be wise changing much up for the sake of a fairly one dimensional rookie.
