I guess but complaining about the #4 defense in the NFL seems silly. Also White is a good player.

White was very highly rated as a #3

You serious? I was shocked we got a 5th. 30+ year old running backs have almost no value in terms of trades. There's always a chance that they're a season away from being done.

I'm happy with a 5th and money off the books.

Well, you say that but it was known there were 10 teams interested. I mean with that much, how could you not pull off at least a 3rd or 4th? I mean the Eagles clearly wanted him so bad they immediately extended his contract to a total of three years. That doesn't really scream someone nobody wants.

Not saying I'm not stoked about an extra pick, just saying I feel like we could've gotten higher.

You have to think of it like signing a player to a contract. Say player X has 10 teams interested in signing him. At salary Y all 10 teams are in on it. But as teams start to bid up most drop out early and focus their efforts elsewhere.

With Sproles it probably started with 7th round offers, and as the price went up teams dropped out. Probably had no more than 3 teams willing to shell out a 5th rounder at best and then the Saints chose one.

It reaches a point were all the teams bidding basically say this is as high as I go before I look elsewhere.

If we lose to the fricking Eagles in the playoffs due to a banner performance by Sproles, I am just going to snap.

I'd be more upset if Jenkins had 2 picks and 10 tackles.

Exactly. I'm thinking all those teams were offering 7-6 round picks and then the Eagles finally threw up a 5th. I'm sure we would have preferred to send him to the AFC which makes me think the Eagles were the only team willing to give up a 5th.

I think it may have been more than one team(maybe 2-3) willing to give up a 5th based on how well he "fits" there and what Loomis said:

"Anytime you're in a good place and you've had success, which he's had with us, it's definitely painful to have the team say, 'We don't want you anymore.' But I'm not in the business of consulting players on the moves we make in management. … But look, I'm sensitive to how personal these things are to players. I get that. I respect Darren. A lot. He's done a lot for us. When we had the opportunity to trade him, I spoke with his representation a number of times. I wanted to put him in a place where he felt good about going, and yet I've got to consider the team's best interest first."

Stephen A. can definitely shut the frick up now.

@Hoodoo, that gif is pure fricking class.
