What should they have done, by passed the BR guys to try to sign players from other areas just to prove they could do it?
We just didn't match the offers of other schools to recruit top flight players from anywhere , much less a nba caliber from new Orleans, where we've been weak in recruiting for at least 66 years . HOWEVER, ALL the elements are in place to get to the upper echelon in hoops. The alumni and the golden girls are going to have to help the bag man land the big game. The sky is the limit. Maybe JJ should get in touch with Scam's minister dad for some help in the gray areas of recruiting

I don't think lsu offered dwight. Lsu only had one scholy in 06. Didn't even recruit tweety. Put all the eggs in the dj basket. Dj hated brady.

It did not start with Brady. LSU has historically been unable to lure almost all major recruits from New Orleans metro area regardless of whether the coach was Maravich, Brown, Brady or Trent. Among those missed- Rick Robey, Dwayne Bryant, Augustine, Greg Monroe, Craig Victor, Kerry Kittles, Jaren Jackson, Perry McDonald, Donald Royal, Shan Foster, Eugene Edgerson, Neil Reed, Melvin Simon, Hollis Price, Greedy Daniels Duane Spencer ( transferred to LSU for last two years)
tigersbb appears to know his 80's/90s New Orleans area basketball...I can tell you first hand, as much love there is for Dale Brown, he and his staff did not make consorted effort to recruit the premier talent in the New Orleans metro effort..H.S. Coaches in the area resented it and opened the door for Big East and Big Ten coaches to woe talent out of the state...

he had an offer at one point. I think it was pulled eventually when he started flip flopping
