For the most part, I agree... But, have you been to Yama?

No I haven't but everyone on this thread keeps bringing yama up. I've been to Tokyo cafe, koto, tiger sushi. Only impressed with tokyo cafe.

I have never had a bad experience there. As a matter of fact, it's the only sushi I continue to eat in BR when in there.

Sorry you had a bad experience.

When you go, plan to spend money...

Order a double of pineapple saki (don't you dare shoot it... sip on it.)
Atlantic Salmon App (I get them to throw in some tuna and whatever else is fresh too.)

All of the sashimi is outstanding

For rolls: (Some are simple, others are extravagant and saucy)
Monroe Roll
V-Roll
Little Rice Roll
Rachael Roll
King Cake Roll
Burrito Roll

I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Sat for over 20 minutes without drinks much less ordering food. We left. I'll stick to Yama.

Went 2 nights in a row before I left town for 6 weeks of training...

I'm pathetic.

They take care of me though.

Do you like sashimi, simple rolls or saucy rolls?

Also, how many people are going and how big is your appetite?

There is only 2 of us going tonight. we like simple and saucy. don't mess with the sashimi too much.

I didn't mess with sashimi much either. I have since changed my ways. If you go again give it a shot, however, tonight you order will be...

-Double Pineapple Saki
(I hate saki and this stuff is amazing)

-Atlantic Salmon App
(Don't replace with other fish like I do. I only do it because I've had it a ton of times. This will be your sashimi tester to entice you to try more next time)

-Monroe Roll
-V Roll
-3rd is your choice. Go with simple dynamite if you don't want to splurge too much. If you're going all out, pick one of the others I listed above. If you're like me, you will get 2 more for a total of 4. I shock the hell out of people with how much food I can put down.

If you do decide to get a cheaper roll as your 3rd/4th roll, order them first. You want to save the best for last...

If you can, belly up to the bar. Never know what they might throw your way if you have a decent sized order going.

If my wife and I get out of there at 100 we did really well.

We are usually well above that, especially if we get the pineapple saki.

It's like the Taaka of Sake . I like it though. You should try some of the higher end sake.

I'm sure it is but they make it in house. Not sure what sake they use as a base but it is outstanding.

I just can't get past some sort of "Confucius says" type joke with this place.
