Harding is nothing put a dumb piece of trailer trash. If she had any smarts, she would have turned down the interview. She just proved how stupid she really is.

That being said, they need to let this story drop. Stop bringing it up!

But I'd love to see more of Kerrigan. She obviously takes care of herself.

Baiul, who actually won the gold, looks better than both of them now FWIW.

Kerrigan was a spoiled shrew. I guess anyone can be a "darling" compared to Harding.

You can tell from this and the 30 For 30 that she's a genuinely stupid person. It appears she honestly believes that if she gets on camera enough and reiterates her story (which has changed several times), people will believe her.

Honestly, it's sad how everything turned out, because her story really could have been one of the most uplifting ever if she hadn't fallen in with the people she did and made the decisions she made.

I do think she had a point about her upbringing compared to Kerrigan's upbringing. Even Kerrigan conceded that much. Life would be a lot fairer if we got to choose our parents, but unfortunately we don't. Some people are born on third base, while others are born with two strikes against them.

In the interview, she said that she "proved she was innocent, but she is still considered guilty". When Carillo (sp?) asked how she proved her innocence, Harding stuttered for a minute and then cited "I was asleep when it happened".

What?

Nancy Kerrigan is such a bitch that I fully support anyone who wants to hit her with a tire iron. I mean, you shouldn't do that, but I sympathize with that compulsion.

From the little bit that I watched, Kerrigan seemed like a nice enough person that had moved on with her life. I thought her comment before the medal ceremony was kind of funny (in reality, the delay was for locating the winner's nat'l anthem, but she was told she was reapplying makeup because she was crying. Her response was "she's going to cry again when she gets her medal; what's the difference?"
Also, in listening to the "this is so corny" line she fed Mickey Mouse, it sounded like she thought flaunting her medal was tacky/non-subtle brag that she was uncomfortable doing.

I'm a bit younger than the incident. I remember tons of references to it in pop-culture growing up, but the last 15 minutes of the NBC special were the first I ever really listened to those involved talk and heard the "whole story." So I thought Kerrigan came off as likeable (or at least pretty darn well camera-trained compared to Tonya), but I am probably missing some insight that the older folks have.

Oksanna Baiul looks like she's 50 and has for quite some time. Quite an accomplishment for a 36 year old.

Did anyone else cringe when Harding talked about Kerrigan's family stability? I mean, Kerrigan's brother had a physical fight with their father that led to the guy's fatal heart attack...

I'm considerably older than you but I view her the same way you do.

No kidding. I turned to my wife when she said that and said "uh, I don't think she realizes that claiming your innocence does not amount to proving it." I'm glad that Mary Carillo pushed back on that delusional notion.

Yeah, Harding has so much weird bitterness towards Kerrigan -- as evidenced by the 30 For 30 as well -- that it's almost incomprehensible to think that she had nothing to do with the attack. She made all sorts of crude remarks and veiled shots at Kerrigan during the 30 For 30. She seems to focus her vitriol more on her than Jeff Gillooly.
