The Foudner's Pickaxe only works on the stuff on the T1 islands.
Stumbled across an exploit on the forums. If you can find a claim that was abandoned after the database fix, you can harvest whatever they had there and it will respawn for you to do it again in just 10 minutes. So if someone built a floor of Burled Wood or put a bunch of Sapphires in a decoration then lost that Claim... you are set ;)

This update smoothed out the game a lot for me performance wise. I am up to iron in the pick axe but only copper in the wood axe.

I got a rare craft for the Silver pick axe. It's a lot faster than the tungsten one. I'm just going to blow through Tungsten and hope for a better craft on the next one.

Just did the same thing, but it wouldn't let me create a new toon so maybe they are not done with the patch they just put in.

I crafted a mighty viridium pick tonight, this thing is bad arse, can't imagine what a legendary is like. Elemental gold is a bitch.
