They were called Pulse when they first arrived about 2 years ago before there was the Pulse elite, then to not cause confusion they just started calling them PS3 wireless stereo headsets.
I had them when they first came out before upgrading to the Pulse Elite's.
It's what they're talking about in the patch, you're fine.

according to something i read the pulse and pulse elite are the same headset, but one was a europe release and one was an american release
i do not believe the ones i have were ever called pulse

I owned both, the ones you guys have say Pulse on the box, and box I have for the Elites say Pulse Elite Edition like pictured above.

Then you must have gotten them after the Elite's came out and they quit calling them Pulse to prevent confusion with the Elite's.
Just like how the new ones aren't called Pulse Gold's, they're just called Gold.

I've posted like 5 USA pics and retailer pics with them saying PULSE on the box.
Combine that with the fact that SONY only has 2 official headsets, and they call it the Pulse in the patch notes for tonight...I mean come on!!!

Well no, you lose the bet regardless because Sony calls them Pulses and did so today in the patch notes and the updates/tweets.
