The pussy teams that pack their schedule with cupcakes should be laughed out of the SEC. The 2012 LSU football team was one of the best in history. 1, 1, 3, 5, 5, 3, 2, 3, 2, 3, 1. What a season. One more game and they would have gone down as the best college football team in history. Most teams don't ever get that chance. After the first game, Miles said he would be proud to play Alabama again. That's balls. That's what it's all about.

The 2012 football team lost 2 games in the regular season. Ill assume you mean 2011 and laugh because that schedule got LSU an embarrasment in the NCG against Alabama. Keep in mind that Alabama's OOC that year included Kent St, North Texas, and Georgia Southern

it is nice to have at-least one cupcake game a year, while they still have to go out there and play it is like a week off.

I like the way it is right now

play one tough OCC and play average to bellow average talent the rest of the season. Note: as long as only 4 teams have a chance to win it all the less and less good teams you will play.

LSU needs to drop the FCS/Div. 1-AA opponents. Also, playing just 1 team from a major conference will suffice, preferably home & home instead of in NFL stadiums. For the sake of the season ticket holders, give them 1 OOC contest worth attending.

It would be interesting to break down the answers to this question between those paying for season tickets and those not.

I pay for season tickets and id rather LSU win a championship than play better OOC teams

Win the SEC and you're in the playoff. OOC means absolutely nothing. Who does Alabama play? Colorado St? UT-Chattanooga? Georgia Southern? Its working for them id say.

This.

Isn't this like the first year we didn't have at least one good OOC team on the schedule in some time?

Y'all don't take long to start bitching.

I don't mind playing FCS, as long as it is a state school. Keep the money in-state. Plus, playing a Nicholls or McNeese, you give many kids who may of grown up LSU but not good enough to play SEC, they still get a chance to play in Tiger Stadium.

what is also bringing this discussion up more is that we are now playing our big OCC games at neutral sites EX: Oregon at Texas Stadium, UNC in Atlanta, and next year Wisconsin in Houston, It has been a few years since there was a good OCC game in Tiger Stadium.

I'm not a season ticket holder, so my opinion may not mean as much, but I can understand both sides. It is nice to have more games in TX for recruiting, but the OOC home games are crap. However I consider Wisconsin different, since it gives fans a chance to see a game in footballs most famous stadium, Lambeau.

So would I but marquee teams insist on home & home. And some marquee teams agree and we play there then they back out of coming to tiger stadium. The marquee matchups will have to be in neutral sites like Dallas, Houston & Atlanta.

9 game conference slate, 1 big OOC, 2 directional schools (of the LaTech variety, not Towson)...that would be fine by me.

Won't happen, but I would love a 10 game conference slate. That way all teams have 5 road and home games. With that though, you likely get NO good OOC matchups.

As long as other SEC teams play comparable talent.

Tejas please.
Tejas in fricking Baton Rouge Louisiana too, not neutral site in Tejas. Home and home or no deal.

One OOC Biggie in TS, plus the Slime and the Ramblin Acadians for the other OOC rent-a wins.
