Did you see his playcalling at USC the past couple of years? His offense put up less than 200 yards and threw for 50ish against Washington State.

I would hate this hire if I were an Alabama fan. It just doesn't make sense.

USC's offense was in the national Top 6 in every statistical category, including tops in total offense (579.8) and second in scoring offense (49.1), and set Pac-10 records for total offense yardage, first downs, points scored, touchdowns and PATs. The Trojans scored 50 points a school-record 7 times. USC became the first school to have a 3,000-yard passer, a pair of 1,000-yard runners and a 1,000-yard receiver in a season.

You serious, Clark?

Leinart, Bush, Lendale White, Patrick Turner, S. Smith, Dwayne Jarrett,

I could have been the OC with that class and had those numbers.

Just to let you know, you were the one that first threw the bait out.

Do you really personally know that many Bama fans that are douchebags? Most of the LSU fans I know personally are great people, in fact ive gone to BR twice without tickets and had LSU fans I didn't even know go out of their way to try and get me a ticket.

Don't confuse real people with the 15 year old turds that post on this board.

excellent post. In my personal experience, I've NEVER had a bad direct encounter with a Bama fan. The BDS trips I've made have always been great experiences.

Too bad Saban doesn't allow assistants to be interviewed with the media.

don't let him bother you his anonymity on a message board allows him to be a douche. you know he's not that confrontational in real life. He needs a break.

I said a couple of weeks back when this got started. Kiffin and Saban can not work together this is not happening unless Kiffin has seen the light and can humble himself enough to learn from the best program builder in the nation.

Apologies for derailing this thread but I feel the same way about BR. My three favorite SEC road trips were all road games at LSU. Two were Bama losses.

Back to thread though. I get the criticism of Kiffin. Saban is a smart guy though. A lot of Kiffin's main problems which were lack of humility and leadership issues would not be that big of a deal at Bama because he wont be the man in charge.

Ive personally seen Kiffin call a GREAT game when he brought UT in to Tuscaloosa and was a blocked kick away from beating a rolling Alabama team. He is capable of decent playcalling. You don't have to be an offensive genius to be successful running an offense full of talented and "sabanized" players.

how'd Bama fans feel about Nuss? I thought he was a good OC. I think Les interviewed him when he hired Kragthorpe, kinda wanted him to get the job.

you didn't derail it Prom did like every thread because he doesn't want to discuss he wants to start flame wars. It's a shame he is allowed to behave like he does.

I personally did not care for the direction the offense was going under Nuss. Bama was relying way too much on the passing game instead of the power run game which has gotten Alabama to where they are now.

Id like Alabama to hire someone who can be more creative with the running game. Bama has three very good running backs who can hurt you three different ways. They have to find a way to get all three involved.

Norm Chow coached up that offense in prior years; all they had to do was ignore Kiffen and not let him screw it up.

As a recruiter, I'll just leave this here...

There is no worse penalty that can be handed down to Bama than this; I almost feel bad for them (almost)...

Saban knows recruiting is waaay more important than anything else in college football. Kiffin is as good as hired IMO.

Does Bama have trouble recruiting? Hell no. Kiffin is a great recruiter but he does not make Alabama that much stronger in that regard. His downside is too enormous without much upside.

Well in his defense there are a lot of real turds that constantly flame LSU on this site. A lot of them are Bama fans.

this was a legitimate thread for discussion though. He can find one of the dozen or so other flames on the sec rant page and start that crap. Its nice to see discussion from time to time. That said, I don't know how feel about DN. He never felt like a fit. McElwain as much as his red zone calling used to kill me, he was part of that team. It's almost like DN showed up, did his job, and went home. I think when you see continuity in the coaching staff it bleeds into the team. Great teams need more than just each individual to do a job.

I didn't derail it. I just said you guys deserve each other and you guys would try to justify hiring this douchebag by bringing up the USC teams.

Hey, look what he did in 05. USC didn't have one of the most talented teams in history or anything.

just shut up everyone knows what you're about. This is for discussion not veiled attempts to flame. You generalized everyone by calling them douchebags when fortunately the only one in this thread making their fan base look like a douchebag is you.

Id just love someone with some real fire who would rather break the will of other teams gradually rather than score easy points at the expense of the tempo of the game and the D.

That has NEVER been Saban's MO. Even at LSU.

Same with Miles.
