The reporter said the conversation was off the record so he couldn't report on it then.
So if it was off the record, why can he report on it now?

Maybe when O'Brien committed to taking the Houston job, the reporter heard and called and asked for permission and O'Brien said "Now? Sure... why not. frick it."

MSB sure does have a nice way of piling on someone with a different opinion. Over 2 years past the outrage, but you still have the "I hate Paterno more than you!" idiots.

Maybe you're different, but I tend to have an unending hatred not only for pedophiles, but for people who aid and abet pedophiles.

I don't care if they're legendary college football coaches or the fricking Archbishop of Boston... frick'em. frick'em all.

And what does Sandusky's horrible actions, and the (still unknown) actions of Paterno and the PSU leadership of 2+ years ago have to do with a current football coaching vacancy? Absolutely nothing except people like yourself wanting to be dipshits.

Yeah, being a Penn State fan, I must be okay with pedophilia. Seriously, go frick yourself.

no telling how many Paterno relatives are still on the Penn State payroll!!!

the state of Pennsylvania has very little control or influence on what happens there...

I don't think O'Brien was referring to any actual Paternos, just the segment of PSU fans being obnoxious with comparisons.

Your second statement is probably true for 2010, but it is completely false to think the same situation still exists today.

well, I have to say it'd be a welcome change. I went to PSU Harrisburg for my accounting degree and was absolutely amazed how much of an alternate universe things were in the system.

From an outsider perspective, you knew things stank when you heard George Paterno on the PSU football broadcast team...

Good for him speaking up. I think it should be an eye opener for the school, and whomever is taking over the job. He did an awesome job there, but some people are never happy.

Hell he's dipping out before the sanctions really have an effect. Losing Silas Redd to USC was kind of bad, but this guy didn't have as tough of a job as people act like. Personally I think he's way over hyped.

Saban doesn't have to listen to anyone's shite so I'm confused about your point.
