What about the Rettig kid? Everybody on this board seemed to be really excited when he signed.

Too turnover-prone for an LSU offense IMO.

Rettig was a big deal coming out of high school. If Jennings is deemed the starter, and with Brandon Harris coming in, I could see him transferring

I could definitely see Rivers transferring after this season, and would be surprised if he didn't, but if Harris is redshirted next year, that would put Jennings, Rettig, and Harris each one year apart and pretty much guarantee each of them a chance to be the starter at least one year.

I'm excited about Harris too, but what has everyone seen to assume Harris is going to jump Rettig straight out of high school? Rettig was a high school All American too.

Eta: I'm not saying a Mett style QB doesn't work in the SEC, because obviously it did. Just saying imagine if JJ had an arm like Mett...

JJ'S arm wasn't the problem it was his mental that's wasn't there. His arm was very live.

Bolden probably needs to contact a FCS team to play his sr year
Rivers may look to leave also if he can't keep #2 job
Rettig will stick it out another year

How did this gem get overlooked?

Well, that settles it.
HR redshirted, has never stepped foot on field at Tiger Stadium, yet he's too "turnover prone"
You people are amazing. Truly one of a kind.

Jennings will start for at least three years barring injury.

He's will be the best qb LSU has ever had

It's hard for me to imagine Harris breaking into a top 2 spot next year.

He will break into the top 2 next year and may even get some significant playing time.

There will be no QB competition if Jennings stays healthy. Well, at least until Harris makes it to campus.

I think Harris will red shirt with all the other QBs on the roster.

I'm a recruiting enthusiast. That's my opinion based on analysis. Quit being so smug in thinking you know more than others.

Here are his HS stats:
YEAR PAATT PACMP PAYD PATD INT RUATT RUYD RUTD
2012 485 261 3424 40 18 - - 1
2011 87 55 824 7 3 6 23 1
2010 353 179 2217 17 20 47 128 2
Total 925 495 6465 64 41 53 151 4

Operated in a super-high pass ratio offense with equally high turnovers.

His style of play doesn't align with LSU's offensive scheme.

Total of 41 INTS in 2.5 seasons.

well with the qb injuries we have seen of late make sense that the next guy off the bench has pretty good shot a playing time. If we had taken care of business in the rent a win games the second qb would have seen lot of action. but it didn't work out that way for whatever reason. If your ol is suspect you can bet the qb postion is gonna need two qb for sure just from the dings, bell ringings etc not to mention more serious knee shoulder stuff.
