Probably. I like to support WWOZ.
You do realize who owns WWOZ and gives them most of their money, right?
Its the 501c3 behind Jazz Fest. If you buy a ticket to Jazz Fest you are already supporting WWOZ.

quote:Next, Anders Osborne and his band—bassist Carl Dufrene and drummer Eric Bolivar—came out for what ended up being one the day’s most exciting performances. The trio were joined, for the duration of the show, by Ivan Neville and guitarist Peter Stelling, who helped kick off the set with “Windows” and “Five Bullets” (Stelling is the husband of Jam Cruise’s Annabel Lukins Stelling.) Mike Dillon then sat in on percussion for “I Shot The Sheriff” before fellow New Orleanians Billy Iuso, Stanton Moore and George Porter Jr. came out for “All Along the Watchtower.” In what is bound to be one of the week’s highlights, Osborne and Friends were then joined by Cyril Neville for “Fire on the Mountain” as the ship sailed past Cuba with the sun setting over the mountains along the island’s coast. Most of the guest exited before pedal steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier showed to help close out the set. quote:
awesome, jamcruise always gets taped heavily. im still looking for the anders holiday show.

The best part about last year was Fiya Fest. Such a great time. Dr. Klaw, GABE (Porter Jr, Osborne, Iuso, Boilivar) , Dragon Smoke, Karl Denson, the New Orleans Suspects, Bonerama, and more plus unlimited free alcohol and food all for only $80. That was one of the best days EVER. Can't wait.
Fiya Fest was awesome. Looking forward to going again this year, if it happens.

Keith Spera lists a few jazzfest rumors.
His include Allman Bros and Vampire Weekend...mostly because their touring schedules lineup perfectly with the fest.
Also throws out a return of the Boss.

i would be extremely surprised if Bruce came back that soon, but he apparently wants to tour the south since he didn't hit it much on his last tour. i expect him to hit up the dallas, austin, houston trio, and probably atlanta, but i wouldn't be surprised if he came to NOLA to play in the arena instead of at the fest.

or Dr. Klaw
Either way, Deitich is one of the hardest working men during Jazz Fest. I'd bet that the people who play the most total shows are George Porter Jr, Stanton Moore, Marco Benevento, and Deitich. Skerik as well.

I had the worst experience at that Fiya Fest than anyone. haha Got there about 3pm, stood in line to get a drink for an hour (didn't know beer was inside), asked for 2 since it was a long wait and she gave me 2 halfway filled up drinks and then put the wrong mixer in it.
Then they ran out of beer. Got back in line outside and waited about 40 minutes for another drink and left.
I probably saw 4 songs.
worst shite ever

Props to the Blue Nile for keeping all these night shows around $20/$25. Some of these tix are getting out of hand.

They threw me off when they downvoted Rickety Cricket...Who the hell hates Rickety Cricket?

I'm always on mobile and forget about the upvote/downvote feature. I'd guess it would be a few members of the red dirt crew or maybe a few rogue Panic fans.

Man I would love a Lettuce show and a Pretty Lights show. I love his new album and his tour that just ended with full band has been killing it.
