I think she will be, unless one of the headliners had to cancel or something crazy like that.

And even then, it likely wouldn't be McCartney.

They lucked out a couple years ago when Aretha Franklin got sick just before her performance. Earth, Wind and Fire happened to be in Biloxi/Gulfport and was able to fill in for her on short notice.

the guy on the JF board said weeks ago McCartney was not playing. Like Godfather said, unless someone backed out, you won't be seeing him and even if that happened he'd be much pricier than who he likely replaced.

Why doesn't the Lakefront Arena or Smoothie King Center have late nights anymore? I was listening to Oysterhead at the Saenger in 2000 and Claypool mentions a Foo Fighters/Red Hot Chili Peppers show at Lakefront Arena that night.

where are the Saenger or Mahalia Jackson dates?

I've been waiting for the Saenger to get back open forever and now there's one show? John Legend?

For some reason I doubt Mahalia does much, I don't know what is wrong with the Saenger. Maybe they don't want a bunch of hooligans running around and messing up their 50+ million renovation. But I don't like it.

Music wise I think I might like the Royal Family Ball the night before better.

Gotta go to Fiya Fest though. The free food and booze, not to mention the huge number of artists, puts it over.

after standing in line for all of the 3 hours I was at fiyafest last year trying to get liquor/beer, I'm hitting the Royal Family Ball instead.

I can't imagine it being crowded at all with Fiya Fest the following day.

Royal Family Ball is the best night of the year. I'll be there for sure. Was going to try and do Fiya as well, but I don't know if that lineup will get me out of bed in time.

Damn. I still wouldn't rule out an Anastasio sit-in, but whatever. I wonder where he,Mike, and Fishman will end up those two nights, if anywhere at all.

I wish I could make the first night to see the Stanton-Benevento duo. I guess I can see the CheeseburgerEddie-touted London Souls instead.
