3.) if in fact MB does step down, Texas needs a coach ASAP…

5.) the NFL season is at least 4 more weeks for Tomlin and possibly longer for Harbaugh… MB, if he doesn't beat Baylor this weekend (which he won't), in all likelihood, he could be pressured to step down ASAP, as the season is over and bowl game don't mean shite anyway…
6.) and finally, when was the last time a currently employed, overall successful, not-even-on-the-hot-seat-yet NFL coach took a step down to the college ranks??
sure, ol' Texas well-connect can throw out some names, but i'm not buying either one of these two…

Mike Tomlin is not leaving the Steelers. Texas might be the best job in the NFL but the Steelers HC is probably the best job in sports period. They've had three head coaches in the last 44 years and they haven't fired anybody since 1968. There's no other coaching job in sports which offers that kind of stability.

Good stuff chicken.
I doubt CNS can make the move after Terry S. stated we are commited to stay, that said as I stated on the Bama board( got mocked lol ) if Mack had retired last year CNS would be at Texas today and if word hadn't of leaked about T.S. house shopping, I think CNS would be leaving for UT.
I see Texas hiring the Steelers coach or a guy like Freeze or Vandy's coach.

That is an absurdly ridiculous statement. I dont believe for a second he would leave, but this would never be the reason. It's so laughable.

I don't recall who gave me the Heron info, but I do recall sharing that Heron visited Texas on the last weekend before signing day, unbeknownst to LSU coaches, his high school coach, any of the pay sites or anyone on the LSU Recruiting Board. I am guessing that Heron led UT to believe he was their's, but perhaps he flipped back to LSU by that Wednesday. The info was relayed to me in such a way that led me to believe he had committed to UT when in fact it was just 50/50 when I made my post about it.
I will certainly be more careful when relaying recruiting info...ha!

If Saban is leaving Bama, I wish him well. However, it could not have been handled worse. A simple I do not comment on speculation (with a death stare at the questioner) would have sufficed to end the questions. At this point, if he leaves, his words would be parsed, rehashed and ridiculed throughout the rest of his career,even more so than his infamous Miami blunder. For that reason alone I say there is zero chance that this happens. We shall see

I'm not saying Saban is coming to Texas or not (I have no idea) - but this is simply incorrect. This is perhaps the worst thing he could say because it would absolutely not end the questions, it would only beg more. Unfortunately, in this day and age, coaches must say that they are absolutely staying until the moment comes for them to say they're leaving. It sucks for fans but that's how it goes.

There’s an expectation that the Texas job will open in the next few weeks. According to a source, Malzahn has told friends privately that coaching the Longhorns is his dream job. If confronted with the choice between Auburn and Austin, it’s a no-brainer move for Malzahn to bolt. The best job in the Big 12 is a much more stable plan than The Plains, as even a play-caller of Malazahn’s acumen isn’t likely to make adjustments to historical trends.
History tells us that Auburn coaches — no matter how successful — don’t have long and stable professional careers. Just as Terry Bowden, who started 11-0 in 1993. Or Tommy Tuberville, who went 13-0 in 2004 after a failed coup to hire Bobby Petrino. Or Gene Chizik, who got fired two seasons are going 14-0 and winning the national title.”
