Was just listening to Moscona talk about this

Wisconsin will only be there if Michigan State loses to Ohio State and drops out of the top 14

Which I didn't think would happen, unless they get blown out. Rose Bowl loves the Big 10.

So you and the rest of this secret brain trust must have been the only ones that just knew LSU was going to the Outback, right?

So is he saying that just a standard loss to OSU would mean Mich St in the Outback? Id take that.

LSU's been to the Cotton Bowl twice in the past 11 years.

I do agree that South Carolina is in the Outback a lot, though.

Actually, I think it may do the opposite, and keep more of our fans at home. It would be cheaper to drive to Dallas in August than to fly to Tampa in January. LSU really needs for the fans to travel to this bowl game after the dismal turnout in Atlanta last year. It's certainly understandable why our fans wouldn't be overly excited about ending this season against Wisconsin and then opening next season with them as well.

No, a loss that doesn't put Mich. St. out of the pool for at-large BCS selection would pull Wisconsin into the Cap One, and send a Nebraska/Minnesota type team to the Outback Bowl.

MSU to BCS and Wisconsin to Cap1

LSU vs IOWA in the Outback Bowl

Where is Ronnie Prude these days? Maybe he can be the guest captain or something?

No. Michigan State is either Rose Bowl or Cap 1.

Yeah, I remember in 2006-2007 LSU had a great chance of playing USC in the Rose, but Arkansas shite the bed in the SECT against Florida. Moving them to the NC, and LSU to the Sugar at-large when it could've been Arkansas to the Sugar-auto and LSU to another BCS at large.

No, not unless the Outback and Cap One work out some deal to prevent an LSU-Wisconsin matchup

ETA: A close loss could keep MSU in the top 14 and it won't matter

A blowout could drop them out of the BCS

Yep

I may go to the Cotton bowl if we're there since I could easily drive up on the 2nd and back on the 4th

Getting to Tampa for the 1st would be much more difficult

Outback Bowl - Jan. 1st afternoon(ish)
Cotton Bowl - Jan. 3rd in Primetime against a better opponent.

I'll be pissed if we play Outback

No way on God's green Earth OSU beats MSU on Saturday. Book it. We'll be in the Cotton vs. Baylor like every single sports site has us now.

Yep. If USC would have beaten UCLA, they would have faced Ohio State in the championship and LSU could've played Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

I thoroughly enjoyed whipping Notre Dame though.
