They could drone and crunch, but that stuff holds up very nicely in an acoustic format, doesn´t it?

Femme Fatale was sublime.

This is the first version that I ever heard and I played it late night as a DJ at Murphy's per Mark Brown's request to calm the crowd down and get them headed towards the exits.

They did a good job with Pale Blue Eyes, as well.

Good one. Funny, I don´t remember

There She Goes- REM from Dead Letter Office

Buddy Hollesque, Stipe´s vocals at times.

I can listen to anything, if Buck´s playing guitar. (comment in general, not denegrating There She Goes, I like it).

Buck was the man, Mills was no slouch on bass, something we many times forget (myself included).

They were a damned tight and good sounding band.

Pylon were fantastic. Stone Roses level, they were. The Stone Roses of the States. They influenced a lot of people. A lot.

To me, they are the embodiment of 'college music' and they were the soundtrack to one of the most memorable times in my life AKA the LSU years.

They came along at a time when mainstream music SUCKED astonishingly bad and I loved them from the very first time I heard Radio Free Europe on KLSU.

Yep, same for me. Luckily, I went to Georgia, and had the Forty Watt Club to see them, and Pylon (who were demigods in the entire East of the US).

Stipes´s and Buck´s reverence for Pylon knows no bounds, and I´m sure the B52´s held them in similar veneration.

REM played a free outdoor concert on the knolls of the freshman dorms, right after Murmur hit big nationwide, and the majority of the tunes were from Reckoning. Good times.

The first two B52´s albums were absolutely brilliant, and what got people like REM major exposure.

We thought The Flat Duo Jets would make it, as well as Barbeque Killers.....

His and Hearse- Barbeque Killers

Forty Watt? Yeah, forgot about The Uptown Lounge.

It was, two pint size cups of draft beer, smelly arse place, people having a really good time. I was in a frat, and it wasn´t really a place conducive to pulling girls, so we were limited to taking the show in, getting féd up, and getting the hell out, and on the better things (if it still wasn´t too late).

It was hard to get people to go. It really was.
