Miami has taken a huge nosedive since the FSU game. Miami with Duke Johnson is playing in the ACC champ game. I really couldn't tell you who the 3rd best team is right now.

What great teams did LSU play that year?

I mean are you gonna try to use the schedule argument?

No excuses because Alabama deserved to be in the game, but LSU was damn close to winning the national championship while beating the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, and Sugar Bowl champions along the way.

Florida State has played Clemson, who is good of course. But they've played nothing compared to what LSU played.

FSU would smother them while Winston and Co went to work on LSU's D.

I forgot it's just a forgone conclusion that one of the better defenses in college football over the past 5-10 seasons would just be gashed by an untested Florida State offense. My bad.

Miami was never as good as any of us thought. But people are forgetting losing their best offensive player in Duke Johnson was a huge blow. It seems like that team completely quit on the season during/after the FSU game.

So yeah.

The SEC and ACC are very comparable at the top. Basically a wash when you consider how evenly matched FSU/Bama and Clemson/Auburn are.

But LSU, aTm, South Carolina, and Missouri would all beat Duke, don't you agree? We won't say Georgia would if they were healthy, because that's unfair considering the injuries Miami has had, like you said.

Ole Miss/Duke would probably be a toss-up, agree? Ole Miss is probably the 8th best team in the SEC.

So it basically just comes down to the point that the average SEC team is going to go through a much tougher gauntlet than the average ACC team.

SEC is better than the ACC this year, there's no doubt about that. But the SEC is much, much weaker than the past few years

From top to bottom the SEC is better than the ACC but that's no surprise to anyone

I know that all you SEC fans that don't pull for Bama really wanna find someone to pull for that might be able to beat Bama because your sorry arse teams can't but really , who the frick has FSU beat that makes them so great?!?! They're not great , they're just the team this week that everyone wants to pull for because they're undefeated and might get a chance to get in the field with the Champs. It's laughable. Bama will wipe the fricking floor with FSU. Bookmark this post and we can revisit when / if FSU gets their shot. Dick riding FSU ........ The thing to do in 2013 on TD and the Rant. It was ND last year! All you morons said the same shite about that bullshite , weak arse team. 3 in a row is coming . Prepare yourselves! Roll Damn Tide!

It's a different conference, yeah. It's still pretty damn good.

Last year, the SEC had like 5 good, good teams who were all pretty much interchangeable. Alabama really wasn't any better than LSU, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, etc. They just happened to be the team to come out of it.

This year, Alabama is good to very good. Auburn is good. I believe Missouri is good. Then LSU, aTm, and South Carolina are all really solid football teams. There's still depth, it's just not as strong at the top. The conference is definitely not as good as last year, but it's not a colossal drop off.

The conference in 2012 was better than it was in 2011. I'll say that.

Miami actually looked average coming into the FSU game. Some people thought they were good because they beat UF, but we know now that wasn't a great win. The FSU game didn't ruin their season. They just really weren't that good all along.

2013 Florida would shite stomp 2012 Notre Dame.

Notre Dame wasn't even a top 10 team in the country last year, in reality.

FSU is way more efficient that Alabama. As a result, Winston doesn't get to put up the numbers he's capable of because Jimbo has to call off the dogs so early. On the other hand, Manziel has to play the whole game because of his team not being so good. I think voters should take this into consideration when they vote for the Heisman.

I agree that the offense has gotten better in the SEC so you may be right. It's not like the SEC is horrible defensively all of a sudden. I just think it's not comparable to past years.

Right . I agree. However the same shite was being said on this website about then beating Bama as is being said this year about FSU. The result will be the same. FSU is a great ACC team. They are 5 or 6 in the SEC

I'm gonna bookmark this thread just to see what everyone thinks later after the season is over.

I'm kind of in the middle. The ACC posters are certainly overrating Florida State as some sort of all-time great team, which I don't agree with. And the Alabama fans are touting the Tide as the greatest team ever who would dominate Florida State, which we all know isn't true.

I'm in the middle. Neither team is an all-time great team, and neither team is as good as their respective fanbases think. But it would be a great game. One that I think Florida State would win.

Silly. Like I said the only defenses that could hope to contain FSU's offense would be Bama and Auburn. However, I don't think Auburn's offense has much success against our defense. FSU beats Auburn by 2-3 TDs

Same can't be said for Bama... Different animal than Auburn and I think they'll prove that.

I'm an LSU fan. We're probably #5 or 6 in the SEC, so I know what #5 or 6 in this conference looks like.

Florida State would roll all over LSU. Like by 3 or 4 touchdowns.

They're the best team after the abortion of a game Alabama is having.

You can have the #1 spot. We don't effing deserve it.

Did anyone on here think ND was that good last year? Maybe trolls on the SEC rant, but I feel like the board thought Notre Dame was playing way above their pay grade and was a terrible BCS championship matchup.

I'm not really an "ACC poster" more just speaking for FSU. But I get your point.

I won't argue about our schedule or conference. I'm just speaking for FSU.
