I think what this shows is that nobody had the slightest clue how this would all work. Obama led the charge (lie) about "keeping your plan if you like it".

The truth is insurance companies have been working to make sure their plans fit into the criteria under the Gold, Silver and Bronze Plans. Most of the plans being dropped are plans the insurance companies actually lose money on, not saying all. The promise Obama made was that the Feds could deliever the database with exchanges for the insurance companies.

Well Obama couldn't deliever and whats the worst part is he is now trying to blame the insurance companies for not offering customers their old plans. I mean the balls on this guy! Anyway the insurance companies are in limbo until the site can be fixed, plus the entire pool of patients in the exchange are sickly and costly patients. I have no idea how you can even fix these problems. If Obama has a Republican House and Senate his final 2 years it's going to be knife fight.

I agree with everything in this post. However I don't feel bad for any of them frick the insurance companies they helped write the bill to begin with because lets face it what could be better for the health insurance market than making it a requirement for everyone to have it.

Any type of healthcare reform should come in addressing real concrete problems in the system. Healthcare has a scarcity problem, lets address that like we would a food problem. We'd reward people for growing more food, so lets reward people for taking on medical professions. Lets make it simple to go to a nurse when you're just a little sick or need a checkup.

If Obama had no clue, then who is running the show? Whoever wrote this legislation must have lied straight up to these senators and Obama.

Center for American Progress = Gyorgy Schwartz (George Soros) thru many of his nefarious organizations (Tides/Media Matters/ACORN/MoveOn). Oh, they knew it was intended to crash the system, they're just too heavily invested in progressivism to get out. It's like trying to remove yourself from organized crime, your ending won't be pretty ! This democrat party 'ain't' your grandfather's democrat party.

Sad but very true.

powerful post. I was talking to my mom yesterday about the tie between this type of dishonesty and a major crisis of legitimacy when it comes to national security. I don't absolve previous administrations from same exact thing but the arrogance level of the change and transparency mantra is stunning. nutshell is, if leaders will lie to you about something this big and important on a domestic level then you can't trust them to protect our interests globally. protecting us requires secrets to be withheld. and we have to trust that info is withheld for a good reason. if an admin is willing and driven to lie about this shite then we cannot trust them to competently carry out their primary duties.

I'm just glad our nuclear weapons program wasn't initiated under this administration.

Doesn't matter. Most if not all will be re-elected.

Those people were dead-arse wrong and I hope their opponents run those quotes non-stop.

Bechich recently said he purchases insurance off the exchange and will forego his employer based insurance. I'm sure there's more to it.

Do you think they knew it was a lie or do you think it was a talking point handed down?

The language/overarching point seems a little too coordinated for them all to come up with it independently.

It's definetley both.

A talking point can also be a lie you know.

I agree. I guess it comes down to whether each individual knew or if they just repeated the line and were hoping for plausible deniability if it turned out to be inaccurate.

Still doesn't mean their opponents' shouldn't hang the quote around their necks, though.

How magnanimous of him. Except for the fact that he has a six-figure salary and fat pension, all at taxpayer expense, so he can afford to shop on the exchange.

Those of us with real jobs aren't quite so lucky.
